Interestingly, we have an article on our local radio site this afternoon in regards to a man committing suicide yesterday afternoon after police arrived at his home to question him about "a crime." (unfortunately, Im at work and can not access the site accept for via my cellphone) I will post later. - www.whmi.com

Murder charges filed in Unadilla death

Mark David Jackson was arraigned Monday before Judge Theresa Brennan in Livingston Circuit Court in the death of Jonathan Risinger.

Man faces murder charges in brother-in-law's death

Unadilla murder suspect will go to trial

Jackson, 49, of Vestaburg, is charged as a habitual offender with open murder in connection with the death of Jonathon Risinger, whom family members said was found badly beaten at the bottom of the basement stairs in his home in the 1800 block of Brookshire Road, near Wasson Road, in Unadilla Township around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6.

Mark David Jackson, of Vestaburg in Montcalm County, told the court at his sentencing hearing Thursday that he was a victim of circumstances and he did not intend to kill his brother-in-law and supposed best friend, Jonathan Risinger...

“I do not believe you were a victim of any circumstances other than your own making,” Livingston County Circuit Judge Michael P. Hatty told Jackson, who was sentenced to 40-100 years in prison for second-degree murder.
