JUST - I saw that post as well. I believe that would be another one of her coworkers. It makes me wonder if they just have no leads - to still be interviewing new people? And again - How did the roommates not have ANY info to point to possibilities - they LIVED with her. Wouldnt they know if she had had a frequent visitor? Or who she went out with? Spoke/text? Something?

And I do believe they are both still living in the apartment - I have to say this - Im not sure if I would have wanted to stay in the complex let alone the apartment after something like that - and then after the SECOND was found I would definetly be rethinking my living situation.

One would think that even if they werent "close" to Julia - they would fear the person coming back and attempting to "quiet" them - unless of course they know something that makes them feel safe remaining there?

Wow. That makes me sick. I would have absolutely demanded my lease terminated!! I would so be out of that place!! This is not like living in your Grandparents old home where maybe one of them past away in...this is a rental that your very young roommate and friend? was possibly murdered in!! Not only that...but the smell of death is no joke! Wasn't it a couple of days that she had been deceased?! Sorry to be crass... I just find the whole situation very strange.

I believe they both moved out. One went back home with her parents and the other I don't really know about. I've heard from another person in the complex that the apartment has been rented out to a new occupants. Wonder if they were told about what happened there?

In the clickondetroit article - the last part about a friend "Andrew" said she was very social. Seemed like a weird thing to throw into the bottom of that article. It hasnt been reported by anyone that she was "anti" social - and what does that have to do with the news that they finally decided its a homicide anyways?

What a random quote to use in this article... (Julia was very social)... Especially one as important as announcing this young woman's death was a Homicide!

:dunno:

ETA... are they hinting that Julia knew so many people that it would be hard to narrow down the perp?

“We talked it over with detectives. We can’t do that right now, so we’re not going to do that right now." What a weird weird quote!

Clear as mud? :D

IHave -

EXACTLY what I thought - what a weird thing to quote! I dont think it has anything to do with there being to hard to nail down the perp. Only because I just read another article that said law enforcement spoke with the family Tuesday morning before releasing the "homicide" info. And that they weren't going to say much more than homicide and that there was no "signs of trauma or anything out of the normal" in the tox. report because they "owed" it to the family to follow thru and didnt want to "scare" off the person. So they must have SOME idea.

Im left to wonder - if her tox came back normal and she had no signs of trauma - What does that leave?

I cannot think of a COD where no signs of trauma... And no conclusive tox tests lead to death...

Maybe smothering?

Just a thought....

Well, what exactly does this mean "Toxicology test results have yielded no conclusive information"? No trauma to the body, no drugs, no poison..... how does a person commit a homicide then??? I'm sure the family is asking the same thing. My prayer go out to them and I hope this is resolved in the near future.

There are drugs that don't show well on tox screens.

"Inconclusive" does not mean "normal". It could simply mean that they do not have enough physical evidence to support their theory of cause of death. One of the reports I read previously on Ypsilanti Heritage news online, said something about the ME bringing in additional assistance for toxicology.

IHAVENOCLUE, I believe with "smothering" or asphyxiation, there would be petichiae present on the victims face, indicating this potential cause of death (along with other indicators).

The most recent article on the Detroit WXYZ-TV web site says near the end "There were no signs of trauma to her body, and the door to her bedroom was locked from inside". Did the person then leave through a window since the apartment is on the first floor and the windows are very low to the ground? or through the door and locked it?

My understanding from what I have heard is that the family believes the person locked the door on their way out - ie it wasnt a deadbolt but a doorknob lock that was locked allowing them to lock in before the walked out and not needing a key to do so.

I also thought of smothering - but it that case I believe you WOULD have seen petichiae just as justnosey stated - as well as possibly some damage to neck muscles etc from her struggling? unless she was already unconscious when smothered - but at that point that would push me back to a tox screen.

At first I thought maybe it was drug or alcohol related ie., an unintentional overdose - sounds like the tox screen ruled THAT out.

Then I was leaning to a smothering/suffication scenario - but that doesnt seem plausable either.

If there was ANY kind of struggle I believe there would have been tell tale signs --- ie., fingernails, hair, etc.,

Something just doesnt add up. Ok LOTS of things!:moo:

Yuck! Im sorry but to me that last article from Mail Online just put up a whole new list of questions - Id be interested to know whether the "facts" stated in that are true.

To me the article appears to build a timeline - with some gaps - I believe *and I could be wrong* that the last time she spoke with her family was on Sunday night. The article reads that her roommates hadnt had contacted with her in days - and that they became worried when she didnt show up for a work Christmas party.

Lets get serious for a second - She lives with two other people - one of which I believe she also WORKED with. They dont see her enter or exit her room for what they state is "days" - she doesnt shower? watch television in the living area? grab food? a snack? call or text to say "Hey Im here just wanted to let you know I wont be around for a few days" or whatever? And it takes a work Christmas party to make them concerned? Also --- why didnt either roommate make contact with the family? or a friend linked to the family? If you troll thru facebook pages there are definite connections between some friends and family and the roommates - Noone called her sister or mom and said - Hey we just wanted to make sure she was ok? Noone attempted to make entry to her bedroom? Instead they did a welfare check on their own roommate? Asking for them to come check her bedroom INSIDE of their apartment? Seems odd!

And lastly - if she was going back and forth to work she OBVIOUSLY had a vehicle - Noone thought it was odd that the car was just sitting parked out front yet they hadnt heard from her in "days"???

Also - suspicious items found near the body? Wonder what THOSE were?

Tox screen doesn't necessarily "rule out the drugs." Not all drugs show up on tox screen.
They also have to know what substances to look for. Some drugs could show up on tox screen if a person is alive, but she was dead for a while before found. Her roommates not realizing something was wrong right away doesn't surprise me. If they didn't have a really close relationship they might have not gotten concerned right away.
