When I look at these cases, I try to stay away from fantastic theories. Usual murders are about money, jealousy, or just depraved miscreants using and discarding people. However, in this case, I am straying from my general rule of thumb and *agree* there in some family secret or business involved here. And Kim and Jennifer know what that is.
Speculation and opinion only.

Removing a door to the most intimate private space of a persons existence in a household and look where she was found...

Where's the mystery now?

It is a highly disturbing punishment regardless, but most especially since he was a stepfather to two prepubescent girls. It screams perversion. I have no TOS compliant words for his behavior, or explanation for the mother's complicit agreement.

Holy smokes, FindHG connecting the dots! What on earth is his hangup with bathrooms? Wonder what happened to him in bathrooms...

I know for a fact that there was a curtain as I saw it when I visited their house in Gaylord. The twins were about 12 to 14 years old at that time.

Post of the day!

rosesfromangels - Unfortunately I can't truthfully answer 4 of your 5 questions. As far as question #3 - I don't believe Chelsea had contact with JT and I don't ever recall him ever saying anything about breakfast at Olga's.

The twins were about 12 years old when they lived in Gaylord.
As for JT having a connection to Chelsea, we had heard from Kim this past January, that JT didn't want to go to Chelsea's sisters wedding (even though his step daughter Jennifer, was the maid of honor in Kassies wedding) Kim said JT hated the Bruck family, she even called Kassie and asked if she could bring her friend Melissa (the person that supposedly JT is now staying with when he bailed out of jail). Well, Kassie told Kim that she prefer to just her family members. JT did end up going with Kim to the wedding. So he does or did have a connection with the Brucks.

Why did he dislike the Brucks?

This is fascinating of you to share. I imagine, 4ist, that this is fraught with pain for you but you don't seem weak to me. Would you happen to have any idea what Turnquist may have been up to around the time of BM's bash, the end of last October? Any hunting trips, mood wise, anything stand out, that may have been noticed?

This may be of no or small re-assurance to you, but I don't think with all that is now known about him, besides a tiny fraction of people who may have some loyalty to him, most people will ever care to see Turnquist as a grieving step dad again. That illusion is gone. It is concern for Jen and her younger sister, so that their lives may be unburdened by the misdeeds around them, that they may live free of perverse constraints, that I hope for, and that Kim may receive the help and support she will need to get past this in the right way. Thank you again, 4ist. O/T your name makes me think of this, 4ist as it relates to the case.

For what ever reason, JT, decided to remove the bathroom door, when people asked why it was removed, he and Kim said 'the twins were taking to much time in the bathroom', they hung a curtain over the door way.

Spellbound, indeed JT did remove the bathroom door and they hung a curtain up. I expressed my concerns many times, but Kim made the excuse that they needed to put a shelf in the bathroom & in order for it to fit in the bathroom they had to remove the door.

4ist, could you clarify what reason was given by Kim and JT for the curtain in the bathroom? Your posts have given different reasons. Did you visit Kim and JT in Gaylord? If so, how often? Thanks for clearing this up.

JT's pretrial for the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 charges has been rescheduled to May 15th at 9AM. His lawyer is defending a suspect in a cold case murder trial in western Michigan. It's the Shannon Siders case. She was murdered in 1989! Not sure if this case was ever discussed on WS.

Fascinating. Thank you for providing this information.
If I've learned one thing in life, it's that the simplest explanation is usually the truth. What are the odds that two young women connected to the Turnquist family would be murdered within the span of 2 years?
Perhaps the connection is not Jim...perhaps it is Kim, or Jennifer, or someone else in the family, but odds are that the connection is there. And Jim is the one with a history of martial arts training and a controlling nature.
I am beyond grossed out by his removal of the bathroom door. That is perhaps the biggest red flag I've ever heard of.

So JT is staying with a female, Melissa? Is Melissa married, living with someone?

You said that JT hated the Brucks, so there must have been interaction between them on which he formed his "hate"

I find it odd he is staying away from the home, and with a female. Just strikes me as odd. I would have thought the young daughter would go stay at Grandma's, while the married couple works on his defense, finances, etc.

This whole family dynamic is beyond bizarre, and Turnquist is at the center of it. Bathroom doors off, mouth taping, children moving to live with Grandma, suicidal drama, 🤬🤬🤬🤬 charges....and this is what we *know* about.

The youngest daughter is staying in the family home with KT to attempt and not further twist her daily life anymore than it already has, the goal is to allow her to have SOME sense of normalcy.

As you can imagine by the family dynamic's you have read on here - sending her to grandma's would not have ever been an option.

On the subject of Julia going to stay with grandma - my understanding of this is that it occurred when she was an adult and did not want to follow house rules including curfews and such. Which is totally different than a minor going to stay with grandma.

Since JT is living apart from the family, what type of daily interactions do JT and KT have? Talk on phone? She visit him? Or could this situation lead to a more permanent separation?

The two are still very much interactive both face to face as well as on the telephone, etc. Although this is a horrible thing to have happen, and not the way ANYONE wants to work on having a healthier marriage, I believe that it could make their relationship stronger. My understanding right now is that they are leaning on each other for support, as a spouse should.

This discussion has veered off topic. Please get back on track, and do not discuss the child and the family's present living arrangements.

Thanks.

Justi saying --- if a door was removed for any reason (to put a shelf in or other "work"), it is easy to put it back on. Pulling out the hinge pins is a quick fix.

Why did JT hate the Brucks?

  • #176
I can not comment on this as it has never been mentioned to me. JT and I have spoken VERY briefly about the Bruck family and he has never said anything about hating them or anyone else for that matter. I do know that KT is very supportive of the family - which you can all see from the media.

I can not say for a fact that JT "hated" the Bruck family but I do remember Kim saying that he "hated" the family. Why? I have no idea. I do know that he had told KT that he wasn't going to the wedding eventhough Jennifer was Kassie's maid of honor. Finally, just before the wedding, he changed his mind and attended. Evidently KT was going to bring a "friend" but Kassie told her that the invatation was only for her family. So then Jim changed his mind and attended.

I wonder if he did not want to go because he did not want to draw that type of attention to something as special as someone's wedding. Perhaps he was worried that his attendance would distract from the appropriate family? Then, maybe he chose to go to support his wife?

Yes...his concern and altruism is what led Kim to say he "hated" them. LOL

I'm confused, how can someone say they do not know if someone "hates" someone and then say that someone told them that someone hates someone? I have had conversation's WITH Kim and she has NEVER, once mentioned anyone in her family hating anyone in the Bruck family. She has herself told me that the Bruck family was supporting JT's innocence. Seems conflicting to me.
