Yesterday was the anniversary of Kellie's disappearance. three decades without her.

There has been some speculation that Kellie may have been buried in a Novi cemetery. There are 4 cemeteries in Novi, Michigan:
Faith Community Memorial Garden
Knapp Cemetery
Novi Cemetery
Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery

None of these cemeteries contain a known grave of anyone named "Brownlee". Perhaps someone who knows other family names could search on the websites by clicking on one of the above cemeteries.

Digging a grave by hand is a lot of work, and it certainly could attract the attention of someone working for an established and active cemetery. The disturbed earth, dirt mound, or sunken area would be immediately noticed by anyone cutting the grass or supervising grounds up keep.

And the possibility of a grave digger locating a secret unmarked grave in the process of digging another grave is extremely high.

If, however, a grave had already been dug for an upcoming funeral, it might be possible (theoretically) for a body to be buried in the bottom of that grave prior to installation of the vault and/or lowering of the casket. This, however, would take very close timing and probably cooperation of a cemetery official/grave digger - a very unlikely situation.

The burying of a body in a place NOT a cemetery might delay discovery for years - depending on the depth and location. Bodies thrown into ponds or bodies of water usually rise to the surface and are found. Bodies simply covered with leaves or debris are often found as scattered bones by hikers, hunters, etc.

Richard.. Paul claimed he was visiting his father-in-laws grave the day Kellie disappeared, so the last name would not be Brownlee. I do not know Loretta's maiden name.

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Brownlee was last seen at the Twelve Oaks Mall in Bloomfield, MI around 11.00 on May 20, 1982. On the morning of May 20, 1982, Kellie and her boyfriend took the bus to school, but Kellie didn't attend class. At 09.00, she hitchhiked to Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi to apply for a job. At 11.00, Kellie ran into a friend's mom who offered Kellie a ride, but Kellie wanted to put in more applications before heading home. That was the last time anyone saw her.

Kellie was a "Wall Tuckian," the nickname for the big-haired girls in blue jeans, high heels and army jackets who hung around Walled Lake in the early 1980s. She listened to Ozzy Osbourne and smoked Marlboro Reds.
Kellie was staying with her boyfriend and his family in their apartment in Walled Lake, Michigan in May 1982. She had moved out of her family's West Bloomfield, Michigan home after telling friends that her stepfather abused her. Her friends stated that they had seen bruises on Kellie's body before she vanished.

The boyfriend reported that Kellie was missing when she did not return to his family's apartment or call him by 21:00. A search was initiated soon after, but little evidence was located. The boyfriend was ruled out as a suspect early on in the investigation. Speculation began to center around the stepfather, who claimed that he was visiting his father-in-law's grave and going to the gym on the day Kellie disappeared. He also denied abusing Kellie in any way and maintained he had nothing to do with her disappearance.

Foul play is suspected in this case.

I read they found something that leads investigators to believe they are searching in the right place and that they do believe Kimberly King is buried there.
Has anyone heard anything more? I'm in TN, so I don't get local news here.
