I have never been able to find any updates on this case.
He isn't listed on vinelink... but he would be out by now.
I don't see any articles about his release.
I don't see any updates on the little girl.

This case burns me with the intensity of one thousand suns. It is just stunning and devastating and so effing wrong on every level.

So the plead to "attempted child abuse" and got off scot-free on any sexual abuse charges so we don;t even have the hope that he can be tracked thru sex offender registries. Just imagine, he is free to offend again with no constraints on him.

The internet is pretty much scrubbed clean of this . I got the impression his parents had money and influence and totally supported him.

The website link http://www.southernsassoncrime.com/?p=1157 is now some odd game looking forum written in Japanese (did mummy and daddy buy the site out or something ??). I did a tranlation from Japanese to English and got this "The rental guarantee, it is when the resident has the rent arrears, warranty company is the out of pocket expenses, to guarantee the rental income to the landlord.Also, when you rent a room, guarantor is required, but it assumed the guarantor for those parents do not ask for cosigner in older, you do not want to trouble acquaintance." Ok so something is hinky there.

Any other info I found on the case fell under the comments sections at these sites. First go to http://www.dreamindemon.com/2008/07/18/iraq-veteran-kirk-coleman-raped-his-baby/ and look at the comment from 8 months ago and a female is posting that he gets out in March and she is scared. Her daughter just made 5 years old but isn't walking yet. The commenter uses a name and makes comments that sure makes it sound like she is the baby's mother. I think TOS prevents me from copying the comment and it may even block the site name but I can PM you the link if it doesn't show up here.

Ok, the next interesting comment that sounds like they have inside info on this is from http://blog.mlive.com/citpat/2008/07/dad_gets_prison_for_abuse.html and the comment is from July 18th 2008 (from a female who has the same name as the biblical temptress who cut off Sampson's hair). That comment gives some interesting info about family dynamics, other ishy behavior prior to his deployment and the info that states he wasn't deployed in a combat zone and wasn't jumping from planes but was in a desk job.

So from my research and this is just my conclusion and hard to find proof of (thanks to parents and money???). I'd love to find the original article (archived maybe) from the southernsasson.com website. Sounds like that article really had a lot of info.

Can we get the official court records on this unusual person? Can we find verifiable documents and put the info here? Anyone up for this mission? I truly feel that there are potential victims at risk here. This person raped his 3 month old daughter, leaving her with 17 broken bones and a severe brain bleed which left her permanently damaged, She cannot even walk at age 5 (so it is reported), she will have the potential as a person in her own right due to the severity of his savage attack on her.

Anyone? Please? You know u guys are the best at this stuff. We all want to save a child from someone like this and maybe somehow, something that we do can make a difference.

There should never EVER be plea bargains on sex offenses where pleading to a lesser charge means they don't have to register as a RSO.

I have scoured the internet for years looking for this guy. It was a desk job and it was his family who bought this deal for him. I believe those things implicitly.

Be on the look out for a name change, but the best place to find this man will be at Mommy and Daddy's house.

His attacks on his daughter commenced when she was WEEKS old, Swampmama. He was just finally caught when his daughter was 3 months old.

Whenever I read of a baby rape case in MI, I think of Coleman. He was one of the first people I ever sleuthed. I will never ever stop praying for the little girl.

(My Question: I wonder why he was homeschooled....Were other siblings also homeschooled or was he a special case that mom needed to a keep close eye on).

She would bring over cookies or trinkets on special occasions, said Karl Arvidson, who lives across the street from the family. Arvidson, who never met Kirk Coleman, said he was "shocked" to hear of the news. (My thought: Why would a neighbor never have met Kirk if they lived across the street from each other and the mom brought cookies to the neighbor. Why bring cookies and trinkets to neighbors, a peace offering for son's misdeeds that she knew about?)

Yeah there is a whole lot of hink and stink in this case.

Ya'll I have such a BAD feeling about this dude. He probably is living off mom and dad, doesn't work and has ample time to browse the internet to feed his sickness and to search out new victims. Just my opinion and fear but we ALL know it happens. Too many effing times and we only hear about it after another child is forever damaged or even killed.

I can't imagine that he will leave his next victim where they will ever be found. Again it is JMO but we know that those who hurt children once, will most likely do it again and escalate their crimes.

I have similar feelings. He will marry again, produce again and then what....some where in the world is a woman who will not know to Google him. Somewhere is a woman who will think she has landed a rich guy who is ex military...one who is hiding his drinking and drug use. She will convince herself that he has PTSD and she will think some love and a family will save him.

Tick Tick Tick will be little Kirk. I wanted to scream and scream and scream when he got his deal.

Imagine the complete terror of his ex wife. He tried to blame his FIL...you know, the guy in the wheel chair.

Media-do everyone a favor and find this guy. Like Karla Holmolka. Find him and publish his picture. Some where. Sell it to the Daily Mail in the UK. Have them do a story and follow up on the life of this man after his monstrous deed.

Some of the comments I saw alluded to the fact that the parents totally supported him and made threats against the mom and maternal grandma and the terminally ill grandfather and wanted to drag their family thru the mud, the courts, etc ( like killer Arias has to the Alexanders) and probably threatened to sue for custody of the baby as well. In the end I think the mom and family finally agreed to the plea because of the threats and to get the dad to give up all rights. That's just how I think it went down.

I have the feeling that the family went hard after everyone. Even the attorney of the said he didn't think his client was guilty, even though the client admitted it more than once. Delusional much?

But i get the feeling the family has a lot of practice in defending this unusual person. It was mentioned that the attorney had known the family for 25 years. Ya think maybe he knew the family due to prior misdeeds or issues with this son? There were whisperings of him having a history of hurting animals and harming siblings although I cannot yet find proof of this. It looks like the family has run a tight ship and got most people to clam up, whether by threats of legal action or payoffs.

I just don't think this baby is his first victim, his only victim or his last victim. Sorry, decent humans don't just snap and rape their own child or beat her almost to death and then become model citizen after that.

This is unbelievable that he now walks free, not even a registered sex offender.

Nobody ever compensates a child victim. There is no free medical care. The victims get nothing. The perpetrators get free counseling, free medical, on and on ad nauseam. The kids have to walk alone in the world with no help whatsoever from anyone. Even their mothers usually offer only silence.

Respectfully BBM. The baby is now 5 and it has been reported that she is not yet able to walk. She doesn't even get to walk alone and likely never will have that ability. She doesn't even have that.

( I am not in any way attacking your post or words. It just really struck me that at 5 this poor child can't even walk yet and meanwhile this is free and able to go one with life without any consequences. This case has me sooooo mad and scared for his next victim)

I honestly believe the ONLY way to save children from repeat and violent sex offenders is for each and every concerned person to write to the head of the relevant Government department demanding tougher sentencing laws, iron-clad sentences that cannot be appealed, long sentences that keep the monsters in prison where they can't hurt any more kids.

Organise protest rallies and annual marches. Petitions. Laws change when politicians are forced to change them or risk losing their jobs.

That judge must have not slept very well after handing the pedo such a light sentence. I feel bad for the good people who work with the law.. and can't do the job as good conscience dictates.

They have a post on there from Friday, August 20, 2010 at 2:46pm (in their "notes" section) for this case. It can be shared on your facebook pages although I understand if u are worried about linking your real name where this heinous person (and his family) can see it. I personally have an anonymous page for such purposes which have a wide group of "friends" all over the world because I play games on that facebook page and I also look up other offenders in an effort to keep them off of facebook.

Facebook is a GREAT way to get something to go viral and get exposed to a great number of people all over the world. C'mon people, lets get this karma train rolling and get the word out about this monster. People with children need to know that someone like this is running free and clear without even having to be registered as a sex offender. They need to know that such an awful thing can happen and a man can get off so lightly.

I just want the world to be aware of the truth about him and his crimes. People everywhere need to know that such a dangerous person is on the loose and free to commit another crime. As the Nana of young grandkids, I would want to know about this man. We as a society have to look out for other innocent children and try to prevent another such tragedy. We can't change what has happened. We cannot punish him, harm him or harass him, we are not vigilantes. We are better than that.

We can tell the truth of what happened. We can bring the truth forward, post the facts, shine a light on it and share it with others and there is nothing he or his family can do about it.

I know this because I exposed a convicted sex offender in our area. Oh he had hidden it well and infiltrated groups where he should not be. But i found out, got his record and convictions and started sharing the truth, backing it up with copies of his record and confession which was public record. He tried to have me arrested for slander. Our sheriff told him flat out " It ain't slander if it is the truth and she can prove it".
