Still haven't found her car and no updates? Hopefully LE is making progress.

a gang doesn't just kill for no reason (mostly) - it's retaliation, drugs, money, snitching, something. No one deserves to die like this.

Not sure about finding her car or not...but no news lately is frustrating, hoping LE have something!? But of course it's just only been over a week that they found her body.

Updates? Sure went silent quick.

Still no updates on Lily's death, nothing in a news search since July 9th.

I agree with you. I guess my use of coincidence was more because the little farm down the road makes the news twice. Sad on both accounts but right, imho...not related.

Lily said the cause was the neighbor burning trash.

I think when it comes to a woman of childbearing age we should consider the possibility of an unwanted pregnancy as well. It seems as though there’s been an increase in murders of women who get pregnant but the baby daddy doesn’t want that for whatever reason (usually because they’re cheating on someone and don’t want to get caught, or they don’t want the financial responsibility). And it seems that people who live a certain lifestyle are less bothered by murdering someone to solve what they see as a problem.

Glad there are still some folks interested in justice for Lily! Hope this case isn't on the backburner and that LE will find answers to the who and why.

**So I am wondering if her boyfriend owed a drug debt? She didn't have the money so they killed her.

Killing over money owed is kind of counterproductive, imo...

It seems sadly that the investigation into lily's murder is going the same way as her boyfriends murder investigation. LE don't seem to know anything else yet (unless keeping it quiet).
I wonder will an autopsy report be made public. I hope they release something soon.

Not to be overly pessimistic, but I wonder how many gang-related deaths occur each year in the area? How much is heard about them in the media after the initial report?

I own a home in Ferndale and can give a little insight....it’s a pretty safe area. I live here alone as a young single female and have never felt unsafe. However, the more south you go (towards 8 Mile) the closer you get to some shady parts of Detroit, so I guess if you were in with a rougher crowd you could be susceptible to gang-related activity in those areas. Ferndale itself is generally a very friendly and close knit community.

Here’s a little info on crime in Ferndale, which is rated here as a “B+”.

I also want to note that, living in Ferndale, the first I’ve heard of Lily’s death (or her being missing) is from this site. Pretty sad. Haven’t heard a single thing locally.

The body of Lily Camara, a mother of two, was discovered July 3 by Detroit firefighters responding to a fire in a vacant house in the 14000 block of Young Street on Detroit's east side. Police said the body was burned beyond recognization, but it was later identified as Camara.

The surveillance video shows a black man with a medium complexion wearing a blue shirt, dark pants and a hat walking into a gas station/convenience store where he goes to the counter. Police are asking anyone who recognizes the man to contact them.

Detroit police are looking to speak with a man that was recently seen driving a murder victim's car.

Police say the man they're looking to speak with was last seen driving Camara's 2017 Ford Edge, which is black in color.

Police didn't specify where the man was last seen with the vehicle.

This is great news! Sometimes I think in these cases, we think nothing is going on and then Wham - we get video of a POI driving the victim's car (or something like this) and we know LE is truly working on solving. Let's hope he is found and there is evidence of what he did and why if he is the killer. IMO
