Police believe Lisa Janine Pipp, 42, got out of a vehicle near the lighthouse in Menominee. She didn’t take her jacket or her phone. Temperatures were below zero overnight Wednesday.

She is described as 5′ 2″, 250 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She also has a cross tattoo on her chest.

She was reportedly wearing a purple shirt and blue jeans.

She still posted on FB 22h ago….so is she missing or ?

First a note: Her missing photo may not best represent what she looks like at the present time. The photo has ben filtered (which is evidenced when you enlarge the photo). The photo looks to be a woman of an average weight. Janine is 5 foot 2 (fairly petite) and 250 pounds So her facial features are likely much fuller than the one missing photo provided. Just my thoughts, but so often we get nothing but photos from social media that may not resemble the person we all should be looking for.

That being said:
I found records for a Lisa Janine Pippa, age 42, NOT in Michigan, but in Wisconsin. In 2023 she was charged with bail jumping (felony) and had her address listed as a Sober Living facility. So she was also dealing with addiction to drugs or alcohol or both at the time. No warrants out at present but there is a current judgement for monies due the court and payment of which is a stipulation of her probation.

There is a divorce in the system for 2015. May be pertinent as it also included custody of a child. The child was placed with a guardian by the court, the last motion hearing was summer of 2024, when mother and father did not appear at the hearing, and it appears the guardian still would have custody of said child.

Was the report of being missing with no coat in zero temps from the person she was with, or was there another witness? All we have is "police believe she got out of a vehicle". As for the social media, someone else may have her password for posting (my husband has mine so if I'm delayed from a work assignment and have a post I wanted up, he could put it up for me). I would think if it was Lisa actively posting she'd be posting a new photo to get "new" comments. The company she is currently keeping is likely key to this whole event, IMO.

See the update from PD also posted above:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SEARCH FOR MISSING PERSON: LISA PIPP

The Menominee Police Department is actively investigating the disappearance of Lisa Pipp, who was reported missing after an incident on the ice of Green Bay. According to her boyfriend, Lisa became upset during an argument and walked away from their vehicle toward open water on January 13, 2025. Despite his attempts to stop her, she continued walking and pushed him away. He left to seek help but was unable to locate her upon returning.

Following this report, we launched an extensive search effort:

• Surveillance and Witness Accounts: Officers have reviewed surveillance footage from nearby businesses and interviewed witnesses.
• Drones and Ground Searches: Multiple drones have been deployed to survey the area.
• Evidence Recovered: A shoe suspected to belong to Lisa was found in the rocks along the shore. A set of footprints – one shoed and one bare – was discovered leading away from the shore toward open water. No return footprints were identified, indicating she was alone at the time.
• Dive Team Operations: The Michigan State Police Dive Team, supported by underwater drones and sonar equipment, conducted a three-day search under challenging conditions but were unable to locate Lisa. Due to the thorough search in the water the search has been suspended.

The Menominee Fire Department followed the footprints on the ice as far as conditions permitted. Enstrom Helicopter Corporation also assisted with the search by flying a helicopter and searching the area. We are continuing to follow up on leads and analyze additional evidence collected during the investigation. At this time, there is no indication of foul play.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the following agencies for their assistance and expertise:

• Marinette County Sheriff’s Office
• Marinette City Police Department
• Menominee County Sheriff’s Office
• Michigan State Police Drone Teams
• Michigan State Police Dive Team
• Delta County Sheriff’s Office Marine Team
• Menominee County 911
• Menominee Fire Department
• Enstrom Helicopter Corporation

The road in the area has now reopened. We encourage anyone with additional information about Lisa’s disappearance to contact the Menominee Police Department. Your help is vital in this ongoing investigation.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we continue our efforts to locate Lisa and bring answers to her loved ones.

The update is not encouraging news. I was of two minds with this case - (1) foul play, but there was no direct evidence of that communicated by LE or (2) she did indeed leave the vehicle. Given her state of dress and the conditions, I feared that if she did so it was likely under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, given her history. If so, the combination of hyopthermic conditions and perhaps alcohol or other intoxicants could have left her extremely confused and less than surefooted. Keeping all the responders in my thoughts and prayers - that is hard, often dangerous work any time of year, in the middle of winter, even more so.
