As gruesome as it is- I have heard that it is easy (relative to other murder and dump crimes) to trace where things have come from in the sewer system. I believe I heard that they can usually go upstream and see where things catch and narrow it down. Probably a high cost to do so, but I hope that doesn't stop them in this case.

Exactly how does DNA determine she was "large"? I had thought the tattoo's looked more feminime and they look like they were large in their size or the tats cover large portions of skin. I figure they did some measuremnets to determine where on the body they might have come from and let's say one was from calf area and the area it covered would be on a large calf. But I don't know why they wait til DNA is back.

Good find, but Lisa is small:

Height (inches) 59.0 to 61.0
Weight (pounds) 110.0 to 130.0

"We now know that we have a Caucasian female, with a large build, and then of course the additional information is the partial tattoo that was [on] the pieces of evidence that were recovered," said Lt. Luke Riley.

It says she's 59 to 61 inches, that's barely five feet. Or am I reading that wrong?

For Lisa, I just calculated her BMI, and she's on the heavy side. She's not overweight, but depending on where she carries her weight she is "Chubby"

You are right, it says inches and I misread it as 5'9 - 6'1 !

The close up of Lisa shows her as very slightly chubby. Softball sized chunks of flesh with tattoos were found. I don't think that would be possible for someone only "chubby".

Norma Critch could be a possiblity...from the link..
"Critch was last seen on July 23 at 5:30 a.m. at a Wallbridge Crescent apartment in Belleville.

She is described as 5'3”, heavy set with short brown hair, brown eyes, a heart and wings tattoo on her left arm and a devil tattoo on her shoulder"

"UNTCHI has a remarkable record for being able to help detectives eventually put a name with body parts found, especially those of missing people.

They do it with DNA taken from the remains found and seek to match them to DNA database records from state and federal agencies.

The Lansing State Journal credited them on Monday with learning that the Michigan body parts belonged to a Caucasian woman, and the Macomb County Medical Examiner's Office determined the woman had a large build".

Hmmm. I don't think it's from the arm that's showing, though it's close. But it appears she has a similar tat on the other arm -- and quite possibly on parts that aren't showing.

She doesn't appear to be what I'd call a large woman, but the similarities in the tattoo are startling.

Too bad that woman was seen alive in October in Denver. That looks so similar it's crazy!

Police could soon be on the hunt for a killer after more body parts have been discovered in a sewer line in Macomb County.
Warren Police say say two parts of human flesh, cut into small square-like sections, were found Thursday morning by a crew working on a large sewer line near E. Ten Mile Road and Wagner Avenue.
We're told the body parts have little decomposition and are similar to ten body parts of a woman found four months ago in the same sewer line five miles north in Sterling Heights.
Sterling Heights Police say the woman has not been identified, and all medical experts have been able to determine is that they are from a white female with a larger build.
Warren Police say the body parts found Thursday were also meticulously cut with some sort of sharp object.
Because the body parts in both cases showed very little decomposition, investigators believe they were recently dumped into the sewer line.
And if the body parts are from the same woman, the person responsible may have frozen the parts so that they could slowly dispose of the remains in hopes of avoiding detection.
