mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) match indicates that two individuals share a common ancestor on their direct maternal line. This means their mtDNA sequences are highly similar, suggesting they inherited their mitochondrial DNA from the same female lineage. Since mtDNA is passed down exclusively through the mother, a match confirms a connection through that specific line of ancestry.

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) matches can involve a large number of people, as it traces the direct maternal line. This means anyone sharing the same unbroken maternal lineage as you will have the same mtDNA sequence. This can include mothers, daughters, siblings, and more distant maternal relatives. While a close match (e.g., exact mtDNA match) indicates a shared maternal ancestor within a relatively recent timeframe (e.g., within the last few hundred years), an mtDNA match can also reveal a common ancestor many generations in the past.

Hi, can you elaborate on the possible link between the OCCK and Nadine?

Also, @Frank57 if you could let us know the route Nadine would usually take to your house? That would be valuable information.
