My question is even if the blood was not his or savannahs it could have been anyone that stayed in the motel (assuming the blood was hidden and brought out by luminol) and also there were no trauma marks on the body that was found, so how could that have been nevaehs blood, unless I guess it came from nose bleeding or something, well I guess we will no soon enough from the autopsy if they release those details, I really dont want to know Im ready to k*&^ the sob that did this to that child!!!

I think the amount of blood found was greatly exaggerated by reporters.

The registered sex offender who many believe is a prime suspect in the disappearance of 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan has two solid alibis who told investigators that he was with them at the time the girl vanished, sources told The Evening News.
George Kennedy, 39, is in the Monroe County jail on a probation violation. He was not referred to as a suspect by police hierarchy but instead was called a person of interest.
It now appears that it he might not be involved with the girl's abduction. In fact, two other people who were considered persons of interest in the case have been cleared.
"We're back to square one," the source said.
According to those close to the investigation, Nevaeh came up missing from the parking lot of her apartment at Charlotte Arms between 6 and 6:15 p.m. Two people said Mr. Kennedy was with them between 4 and 7 p.m. They also passed polygraph tests.

Who are the other two who were cleared? I heard Easter was, but who is the other one?

Red comments mine.

Reporter:
She is an alibi for George Kennedy.
His girlfriend Savannah Gray.
And she say Kennedy was with her almost the entire day five year old Neveah Buchanan disappeared.

Savannah:
"all day, until 7:30"

My comment- pause between until and 7:30 said as a question with a shrug of the shoulders

Reporter:
Kennedy is a person of interest in the disappearance.
Savannah says she woke up with Kennedy Sunday morning at her home in Monroe and she was with him until 7:30 Sunday night when he left for just 30 minutes to give a friend a ride.

Even if true, it doesn't exactly rule out they did it together, does it?

Little Neveah disappeared around 6:15.

So do you think he had anything to do with it or impossible?

Savannah:
Umm, no, I do not think he did, he didn't seem like he was that type of guy to do anything like that, so

MAJOR RED FLAG. What's with the UM and the conditionals? If you're his alibi then you don't have to "think" he did or didn't, you know he didn't. You don't have to guess if he seemed the type or not, you know that he didn't do it and can reply definitively that it's impossible, even if he seems the type.

Reporter:
And he was with you?

Savannah:
Yeah he was with me.

She needed the reporter to remind her about it.

Reporter:
As for the bloody shorts and towel found in Kennedy's motel room, Savannah says the blood is hers. And the bloody multi tool found inside the van Kennedy was driving?

Savannah:
"he uses it for fishing and I know what one, I know what knife you are talking about, I know what you are talking about"

Reporter:
And the blood?

Savannah:
"Yeah, it is his blood or it has to be a fish's guts"

Reporter:
When George Kennedy came back to her home around 8pm it was none other than Roy Lee Smith who came by later that night around 10 o'clock because the couple needed a ride back to Kennedy's motel. Smith is a second person of interest in the Neveah disapperance.

When Smith dropped them off police were waiting at the motel with questions.

Savannah:
"They were saying, like, me and George had something to do with it. And I was, like, no, I wouldn't never have nothing to do with nothing, something like that"

She can't quite bring herself to say what.

"I would wish I'd never met that guy actually if he something to do with it. It was, it was scary."

Reporter:
But you think he couldn't have had anything to do with it?

Savannah:
"He coudn't have. I was with him that day."

Reporter:
Savannah says police brought both her and Kennedy to jail for questioning.
She was released at about 3:30 Monday morning.
But he has remained in custody on a parole violation.

She shakes her head a lot and seems nervous. But who wouldn't be, if police may think you're a suspect in a child murder case.

I have the same questions that have probably already been asked. How is it that he picked up a friend at 7:30 and came back at 8:00 but needed RS to give them a ride back to the motel and where does him getting a call from JB that Nevaeh was missing and helping to look for her fit into this? I thought JB called him and told him the police wanted to talk to him so he returned to the motel. Totally inconsistent stories. I heard that the person that gave him the alibi was polygraphed and passed. I don't see how.

Also

What cannot be explained is whose blood was found on a multipurpose tool that was recovered from the console in Mr. Kennedy's van. Also there was what appeared to be blood on an article of clothing or a towel that were removed from his room at the Motel 7. Investigators said they are still waiting for DNA results to determine who the blood belongs to.

Having said that, I think they maybe able to type and match with antibody screens prior to DNA which is going to take awhile. If they have enough sample.

Why would you take a video of someone mowing the grass? Seems rather strange.

The neighbor was probably taking a video of their kids or something, and he happened to be in the background.

Nevaeh is totally unaccounted for from 3:30 to 8:15. GK has a credible alibi (receipts, at inmate facility, etc.) only from 7:15 on. No witness has been produced to us to account for JB for any of that time. What about the other POI?
I wish we could get a definite time this person saw her riding her scooter.:

To throw another hitch in the timeline there is this:
"I want to move. I want to move out. I do not feel safe here any longer because it hit so close to home," said Richard Hammac, neighbor. Hammac saw little Nevaeh riding her scooter hours before she disappeared

Who are the other two who were cleared? I heard Easter was, but who is the other one?

A judge said Easter was cleared.
The suspects GK and RS said they were cleared.
The sheriff's office said they could not confirm that they were cleared.

Why did a judge say he was cleared? Don't the police usually announce these things? Or did I miss something YET again?

She called Kennedy at 8 saying LE wanted to talk to him. The 911 call was at 8:15. Even if she was mistaken about what time she called Kennedy, how would she know that quickly that they wanted to talk to him? Did the 911 operator ask her on the telephone if she had any friends who were SO's?

According to Kennedy, she called him twice:

7:15 Takes friends in Savannah's mom's car to inmate dorm to visit someone.

Went to his motel.

Went to a gas station.

Went back to county inmate dorm.

Took friends home.

Got call from JB that Nevaeh was missing.

Drove with Savannah to Nevaeh's preschool.

Went to Greenwood Apartments. Told by security guard that LE had been there looking for Nevaeh.

Got call from JB that LE wanted to talk to him.

Went to motel. Arrested.

I'm thinking that if the child was never taken for a dental appointment that tooth brushing wasn't high on the priority list at her household.
she had one dental appointment.. no xrays yet.

Thanks! He does make a good suspect. MOO

I think he is involved in the cover up and burial but I don't think he is the attacker. Nothing really to base that on, just a feeling. I *believe* his victims were adult women, no one under age, let alone 5. That is a big jump in deviant sexual behavior.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 8:14 p.m.

Authorities have not named a suspect but little Nevaeh Buchanan's family believes her mother Jennifer could be involved.

"I hope that it wasn't her. I hope she was not involved but my gut tells me if she wasn't immediately involved, she knows something," said Carla Elliotte, Nevaeh's grandmother.

It is a suspicion, NBC24 was told, that is echoed even by Jennifer's relatives. The fact that she failed part of a polygraph test does not help her case.

"I'm sick. I don't want to believe that she had something to do with it but I think if she did she deserves what she gets. She needs to spend time in jail and this would never have happened if (Nevaeh) were in my custody a long time ago," said Shane Hinojosa, Nevaeh's father.

I wonder how they feel today and if they are convinced JB is involved?

His statement sounds as if it were sometime in the afternoon rather than after 6pm. MOO

Taken from Nurse's post on the first page:

9) George and Roy had been hanging out the day Neveah went missing.

Has this been confirmed? At what time where they together? I thought Savannah said she and George were together alone all day until he drove a friend (what friend?) home at 8:30.
Roy! (have to dig thru thread one to find the link for you... or it may have been thread two....)

Huh? Did all this escape Savannah's memory? Did he supposedly do all these things in the 30 minutes that Savannah said he was gone? What about the friend who picked them up at her house at 10pm? Who was that?

I don't know why, I am guessing there was a hearing about his release and the Judge Vitale said that the prosecutor and sheriff had cleared him. Apparantly Easter was at Kmart the same afternoon Neveah and her mother were there.
