Hi SS, I understand that kids have vivid imaginations, my 11 year old daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and bipolar mania and I have heard some pretty outlandish stories. But, retelling of a child stabbed in the stomach by a bad man is far more than a vivid imagination in my opinion. If the children around those parts are so unsupervised that things like this are being talked about and told ...this is more scary than I thought. Department of Children and Family Services should be looking into why a 7 or 8 year old child would say their friend was stabbed in the stomach by a bad man, I mean honestly, I find that statement disturbing. In my opinion no child should have to witness even a story of something like that at 7 or 8. It seems a lot of the kids in this apartment complex went unsupervised a lot. Or maybe I just have a sheltered view of how life should be for a child.....I don't know.:twocents:

I have wondered about this. A child who had never seen a sexual act might think that a little girl was being stabbed when she was actually being raped.

Could someone repost the information (or video) of the beer can and the fire they found at the scene?

The fire could be from anyone fishing there at night, but if the beer can was found in the shallow grave with her...the chances are good it was the perp's.

I thought I read the 90 lb. cement was sold at a couple of other places besides the plant next to GK's motel. (I think it probably did come from that place, but we need to try to be as accurate as possible.)

I believe that the collected the toothbrush and toy to compare fingerprints. I am sure they already have her DNA since they used it to compare to the blood found.

Excellent point.

Yes, they are dragging it out for a reason. Granted, she could be decomposed beyond recognition with swelling and blood pooling in the face. Still, why did they wait until today to gather DNA from her home? They should have gotten her toothbrush the day she was found and had it processed for a match. Makes no sense they are taking days to round things up. For one thing, it is horrible for the family not to have this done as quickly as possible. Shame on them!

Personally I think items belonging to Nevaeh (such as a tooth or hair brush) should have been seized as soon as she was reported missing, in order for any DNA found on them not to be degraded or as happened in some cases, for the items to be removed. After thinking about the ID more, it might be that the ME wants to spare the family the ordeal of having to see her remains as they are now. Another thing I was thinking of is there would've been an examination for sexual assault and perhaps they are waiting for DNA results on that and stalling the release of the body. MOO

Do we know how old this woman is? Wasn't there speculation this is the person he had attacked at 13 years old or something?

There is a video of her giving an interview, she appeared to be early twenties to me.

I thought about that, too. :( However, the little boy didn't see anything and he was the one who reported she was stabbed. (I am guessing too many video games or something.)

I thought an article posted here last night said the only place that sold the 90 lb. bag was Kaufman's, which is next to the motel where GK stayed. MOO

Maybe they are putting out that he didn't see anything, because they are afraid for his safety. If he saw someone, that person may think he can identify him.

I think it probably generates out of two things:
a. I think the adults around the complex were immediately talking about GK taking her.
b. the stabbing in the stomach could have been in a show or movie he watched recently.

Poor guy probably really wanted to do something that will help bring her home.
I agree. Bless his little heart. Losing your best friend at that age never leaves you. Very sad. :(

Here SS....this is where I heard it

http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/dpp/news/local/090605_nevaeh_friday

lots of other info there too but in the video it states it was a busch beer can and it was recovered from the hole, also info that the FBI went to the store they believed it originated from.

While it is possible, they aren't recanting the other child's story.

Is the other child a sibling or different family?
If it is a different family they may just not being talking to the press?

My guess is that he overheard lots of adults theorizing about what might have happened to Nevaeh. As a mother of 3 kids, I know how hyper-sensitive kids are to what is going on around them, especially something this traumatizing as a missing child. They probably used George's name in conversation, postulated scenarios, grilled the child, the child, sensing approval from the parents when discussing a negative scenario probably got caught up in it. I can see it happening. Kids can be very easily led. I worked with disabled adults for years who had the mentality of children. In ANY abuse investigation we had to be extremely cautious of how questions were phrased because they were SO desperate for approval they would answer in the affirmative to anything they thought was what the person wanted to hear. And sometimes they also knew what would get them the most attention. You have to be realllly careful not to ask leading questions. My guess is that the family members asked very leading questions over and OVER again until the child was basically subtly coached into a statement.

I really feel for that little guy.

If she was the victim back in 2002, she would be about 20. Hmmm...

That would make her being his alibi and girlfriend a whole new level of creepy, especially when you factor in a missing and now dead child. I will have stick my fingers in my ears and go on believe Savannah Gray is a totally different person, a different person that is not using her real name for some other less creepy reason.
