Hello fellow WSers - I am local to Monroe, MI and I drive by this area every day. If you need anything from me please let me know. The roads are still blocked off today near the river and obviously I would not go there and in any way make LE's job more difficult - but when the time comes I can be a resource on the ground for us.

Poor baby - rest in peace...

I just gotta say, that although she had a drug problem, wasn't the most upstanding citizen, Ellie Nesler is my hero. She shot the man who molested her son and four other boys 4 times in the head in a Sonora, CA courtroom.

I am not advocating violence of any sort, but I am surprised that vigilantism does not occur more, especially with our inept justice system.

Maybe GK and other SO were moved to another jail for their own protection.

Kennedy: "I didn't kill her"- http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/19657784/detail.html

From the article-

"I ain't got nothing to run from," he said. "I went back to the motel room to clear my name."

"I didn't take her and I definitely didn't kill her," he said.

"I have no clue. I wish that I did have some clue. I am hoping that she ain't dead. I still got my fingers crossed that they are going to find her alive."

He told the paper that he met Nevaeh's mother two years ago at the parole office. He said he formed a friendship with her out of loneliness.

"I am 39 years old. I don't want to grow old by myself. I just want a companion and to be happy. If they got a kid, I don't have a problem with that and helping them raise kids. I ain't preying on women to be with their kids," he said.

"I was a father figure to that little girl," he said. "Because I am a sex offender it doesn't mean I have to bury myself under a rock. I have no regrets about knowing Nevaeh, her mother, or grandmother. I care about them a lot."

The Toledo Blade is reporting: "Sherry Buchanan, Nevaeh’s grandmother who had custody of the little girl, said she was told by authorities that until a DNA match was finalized, they couldn’t be sure it was Nevaeh’s body that was discovered."
I must have missed this. I didn't realize that the mother didn't have custody. WTH?? Why was the mother who didn't have custody allowed to bring SO's around the child? Maybe the grandmother needs looking into as well.

NOT defending the tattoo story - but a thought occurred to me as to how there might POSSIBLY be blood like that from a tattoo ---and that would be if they had someone obviously unprofessional come TO the hotel room - and he was wiping up the blood as he worked with the shirt -- AGAIN TOTALLY unprofessional but the ONLY way there should be blood like that after a tattoo -- I personally have several and have several friends in the industry --- you just DONT bleed like that. AND --- when you leave --- it SHOULD be covered with a "saran wrap like material and some form of tattoo "goo" Just my info on the subject.........

Looks like whomever poured this crete wanted to make it look like it fit in with the rocks.Quote

I am just befuddled by where the monster put Nevaeh. All around them the environment is green. Why so close to the bank? Why put a stark white block over the top of the grave knowing that people fished there often? The son immediately knew it was concrete but thought it was just leftover from some highway work being done up the road.

He said his feet was on the thin concrete as he sat on the two rocks there and him moving around is what caused the thin layer to start breaking away. Her body really had to be right underneath that very thin almost non existing concrete if he didn't even have to dig down and was able to see what he thought was her back. (That just tears me up)

So why would the perp place her in an area that was known to be fished often. The men said it wasn't unusual to see someone fishing in that spot.

It still gives me an eerie feeling that whomever is the murderer of this precious child they wanted to mark the grave. Perhaps to come back to it later. I don't really know but they could have just buried her deep in the trees with no cement over her and she would have been much harder to find. It is just puzzling to me for some reason.

imo

Hello - I live near this area & drive past it every day. The fishing spot is right off the road - easy access would be my guess. This area is FILLED with deer and every morning I drive by at least 5-10 dead on the side of the road - so the smell may not have immediately alarmed them.

Hello - I believe Nevaeh's GM had custody while her mom was in jail for breaking into houses in Monroe...

The grandmother received custody of Naveah when the mother was incarcerated -- unfortunately theres was nothing that said she couldnt move INTO the home with the grandmother and child after she was released.....

I think he violated parole as being around the children was probably a violation. I'm thinking his parole got revoked because he was. He may have been transferred to the big house prison over it. He's high on my list though.

“She left our house at 3:30, 3:45,” said the boy’s mother, Crystal Kuhn, 33, who lives a floor up from Nevaeh’s apartment. “They had to go to the store.”

The two children had played inside the boy’s apartment most of the afternoon, then Nevaeh left with her mother, Jennifer Buchanan, Kuhn said.

The next thing Kuhn heard, Nevaeh was missing. Devastated, Kuhn shudders to think what else could have been.

OK, well THAT'S new. So maybe Jennifer DID take Nevaeh somewhere.

MONROE — The man who called authorities after finding a body on the banks of the River Raisin said he and his father unknowingly sat for hours fishing from atop a concrete block not knowing it contained a body.

Guy Binkley, 51, told The Blade Friday morning that the body — believed to be that of 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchannan — was encased in some sort of concrete ready mix just feet from the river near Dixon Road in Raisinville Township.

Mr. Binkley said he and his 72-year-old father, who was visiting from out of state, went to the river to fish about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. They were sitting on the rocks and on a piece of concrete and Mr. Binkley said he occassionally kicked his foot at it.

He said they noticed a foul odor but thought it was decaying fish.

The father and son were at the river for about two hours before Mr. Binkley said he again kicked his foot into the concrete and a piece flipped off of it. Then he saw flies and discovered human skin.

They immediately called 911 and police authorities and said they waited at the scene for about two hours until an officer arrived.

Click the audio player below to listen to an interview from the Deminski & Doyle show on 94.7 WCSX Friday morning. They talked with Lowell Kirk, the father of Guy Bickley, who was fishing with him when they found the body of a young girl along the banks of the River Raisin on Thursday.

She must have been lying face down, as the man who found her said he saw what appeared to be a part of a small back.

Another aha moment - she's on her tummy, face down, as the perp knows her. I bet he didn't want to look at her as he was pouring cement all over her body. Putting her in cement, is similar to burying her vs. leaving her out in the elements.

I put my bet on the SO "daddy figure".

Best,

Mel
