We may find out at the press conference, but channel 7 mentioned that there was "chain oil" in the trunk of the car, leading me to believe a chainsaw was involved.

I am glad he is found, but I had decided if they were searching tomorrow still I would go up there and search. R.I.P. Mr. Mikes.

I've had a feeling since I awoke this morning that the body would be located today. Prayers have been answered. Now there can be justice for Patrick Mikes, Sr. whose life was taken in a horrid manner and too soon.

Thoughts and prayers for the family and friends of Mr. Mikes. :rose:

I alluded to dismemberment earlier, and my meanderings were confirmed by LE comments yesterday that there might be "body parts". How awful for Mr. Mikes' life to be taken so brutally! :furious:

Chain oil... like from the missing bike, most likely not a chainsaw.

It's the same area where they were searching past days (news coverage). Sounds like the police were on the trail shortly after the original report (didnt believe that Mikes Sr went of bike ride).

IMO the police were sandbagging alot of the information. But I guess it makes sense to Release limited info so that the case isn't damaged. Seems like only Patrick Jr is involved at this point..... any news or info that an accomplice was involved? I wonder if the police have more info on the case.

RIP Patrick Mikes

Troy Police have found the body and bicycle of missing 55-year-old Troy father, Patrick Mikes.

Troy Police Chief Gary Mayer said both Mikes' body and his missing bicycle were located today in the same 25-square-mile area in Genesee County where dozens of law enforcement officers and 12 police dogs were searching. The crime scene is located in a cornfield in the Montrose area, northwest of Flint, he added.

Mayer said that there will be a news conference at 2:30 p.m. today at the Troy Police Department to discuss the case.

LE said from the get-go that when they located the bike, they would also find the body. They must have known that the bike was not sold/pawned/traded but was discarded with Mikes, Sr.'s body since the sons reported that they last saw him leaving for a bike ride.

Bike found 15 feet away. Body tossed, not buried. Techs processing scene as we speak. The Oakland County Coroner will make definitive ID.

"It was the right thing to do" to continue searching for Mr. Mikes after the arrest of Jr. All future questions should be directed to Oakland County DA.

No comment as to the state of the body.

Body found at approx 11:00 a.m.

On morris road 1/2 mile north of Lake road - 15 feet into a corn field.

Searched 25 square miles. 17 different entities helped (11 different press agencies helped "was huge and have never done that before.").

How many days has the body been there? He believes since the Saturday before he was reported missing.

Why did he choose that location? Speculative. But the car was ID'd in that area "cruising."

Has Jr. been cooperating? He has retained an attorney, no conversation with him since Sunday, the day of the report.
