If we are looking for conspiracy theories, perhaps the following accident (?) might
be related:

The accident happen less than 1 mile from DeWolf's fraternity (most of the
medical school is within 1 mile). Heping Zhao, 63 years old, lab assistant
was missing on April 10, and found dead on April 11. It is believed that he fell
from a parking structure. I know that at least 1 of the residents in the fraternity
knew Zhao, but probably several of the residents, including DeWolf may have
known him.

However.

In Australia, it's never ever happened before, so the odds are...? In America, statistically, kids do die from gunshot at colleges. It's not unheard of.

If you read carefully I'm not righting/wronging anything, I'm just observing a statistical and cultural difference which has affected my sleuthing.

It's not my personal fault if those statistics exist, KWIM? So please don't be offended by my observing them.

It happens here all the time. Perhaps some are so used to murder by gun they've become immune to it. I for one have not...and never will be.

Strange things happening around that frat house! (consider my post simply a :bump: since I don't have anything important to say).

Apparently UMHS has quite a problem with dead students and staff. :scared:

It seems as though this man committed suicide.

Suspicious minds such as mine would consider this possibly related until proven otherwise.

Did Zhao own any guns?

I know very little about Zhao and I do not know whether he owns a gun. Why are you asking? We can say for sure that Zhao did not kill DeWolf, because
he died earlier. Police beliefs that Zhao's death was an accident. I find that hard to believe.

According to the police, he took a break from work and went for a walk. From the place he works there is one obvious route for taking a walk, and indeed along this route is where his body was found. But in order for him
to fall to his death, he would have to lean far over the railing. But why
would he do that? There is nothing interesting to see from that point,
only some space between the building and the parking garage. This could possibly be a suicide, and perhaps "accident" is a euphemism. But if this was not an accident, nor a suicide, it must have been murder.

Zhao worked in the anatomy department, in the plastination lab. Basically,
what they do is process body parts of the deceased so that they can be used in medical education. I saw an exhibition of this once, at the Detroit Science Center. Interesting but a bit morbid.

Another coincidental fact, which is probably not of any importance is the following. The medical examiner's office is on 300 Ingalls street,
accross the road from 220 Ingalls street, where DeWolf was found dead.
In fact, the fraternity used to be at 300 Ingalls Street. Then they moved the whole fraternity building across the road on tracks to 220 Ingalls street.

In my opinion, police will go by the way of least resistance. If there is a death that could be accident, suicide or murder, it's certainly easier to call it an accident if there is no evidence of suicide (such as suicide note) or murder (witnesses who saw it happening, etc).

I don't want to post my email on a site that's not familiar to me, so please forgive me for not voting. I watched the video twice and was bothered both times by the little smirk followed by a broad smile when SS was asked how she found out about PD's death. Then came the major Freudian slip about Paul having "passed out" instead of "passed away". There's plenty more behind that remark! SS doesn't seem sincere to me, and I have to wonder if there was some professional jealousy in their BFF relationship. :moo:

Her FB comments seem off, also. And pictures of SS and Paul appear they were more than just friends but, that's all speculation.

Paul's friend Jason H. also spoke about him to media. Although, his interview was not strange like SS, he did state on twitter that he was questioned and given a lie detector. Is that normal for investigators to give a lie detector without any suspicions on that person? JH also expresses his intent to get a tattoo in Paul's memory so I suppose they were very close. However, JH is gay and Paul may be anti-gay. Read his FB blog about Obama's 100 mistakes.

Paul copied and pasted " Obama's 100 mistakes". So the antigay comments their might not exactly represent his opinion.
JH and Paul do seem close, and JH is also on the profile picture of Paul.

The impression that I get from her FB page and from the CNN interview is almost that she tries to "prove" that she was
closer to him than anyone else.

I see what you are saying. I was mainly wondering why the need for a polygraph?

Another question is where was SS that night/day? She works and lives in Baltimore. (8 hour drive away)

I find the polygraph a bit strange too. If the murderer is among the friends, and the police would only use the polygraph
on only one person, then theywould give away whom they are suspecting. And a person who is not a suspect could still be lying
about certain facts. They might hide an embarrasing fact about a friend if they themselves believe that the friend is not involved.

All I know is that SS was in Michigan a couple of days after the murder.
