Note that the date of April 25 in NamUs is incorrect and likely a typo. The reporting date for Portage Police Department under contacts is April 15, and original newspapers confirm this as well. These articles stated that the decedent was originally thought to be a black male about 60 years old, and that work was being done to obtain possible partial fingerprints.

Added to NamUs in May of last year with lots of high-res pictures

Gold grillz were highly unusual in the 60s and 70s. I would risk saying that this JD was likely Black and from an Hispanic, Latin or Caribbean region. MOO JMO

This man, sought by the FBI, matches the description of the John Doe. I’m trying to find any follow-up information about whether the fugitive was ever located.

Replying to myself for context.
This guy was found a week or so later and sentenced to 10 years in federal prison. He died in 1973, so obviously not our John Doe. Yet... what are the odds of two people having similar physical features and "gold-capped snaggle teeth" back in the day?
