WYOMING, Mich. — Police and search teams were back out on the ground Thursday looking for a 69-year-old Wyoming man whose family hasn't seen him since the morning of November 21.

Raymond Tarasiewicz was last seen at his home on Steff Court in Wyoming around 7:30 a.m. by a family member.

A neighbor reportedly saw him later that morning in their driveway.

Amanda McCarty, Tarasiewicz's daughter, says her father often walked to a nearby Speedway or Shell gas station for snacks, so it’s possible he was heading in the direction of 36th Street and Burlingame Avenue, or 28th Street and Wyoming Avenue.

In the past, he has wandered into garages or outbuildings. He did not have his cellphone or medication with him. He was not believed to have access to money. Wyoming police have followed up multiple leads and asked the public to watch for him.

Family members searched near Walker on Sunday afternoon, starting in Johnson Park and following the Grand River.

Searchers followed the Grand River all the way to 44th Street.

However, Tarasiewicz' daughter, AM, said the search didn't turn up any sign of Ray.

She's urging anyone who lives in the Wyoming, Byron Center, Kentwood, or Grandville area to check their doorbell cameras for any sightings between November 21-22.

News 8 spoke with Tarasiewicz’s daughter, Amanda McCarty, on Wednesday afternoon. During the interview, police called her to let her know they are not giving up.

Neither is McCarty. She has spent the last month and a half trying to find her missing dad and won’t stop until she finds answers.

“The biggest concern is he left with no coat,” McCarty said. “No cell phone. And he didn’t have his ID on him. He didn’t have a debit or credit card either.”

His family reported him missing as it turned dark that night. Police with K-9 tracking his scent scoured the area, along with family and friends. They knocked on doors and checked surveillance cameras, trying to find something.

McCarty said they also contacted all of his family and friends, but no one has seen him. They even visited his previous homes and checked out several areas he typically goes.

Still, even several weeks since the search began, McCarty says only one person has reported seeing her dad.

“Our neighbor across the street from our family home says she saw him shoveling the driveway,” McCarty explained. “We recently had a big snowstorm, that Monday morning. But he or she could not provide a specific time.”

[...]

“The case is still open and actively being worked,” Wyoming Department of Public Safety Capt. Tim Pols said in a statement to News 8 on Wednesday afternoon. “We do not have any updates to report. We would appeal to the public for any information regarding Mr Tarasiewicz.”

The good news is the search is expanding.

McCarty said that Wyoming police plan to extend their search on Thursday to south of 54th Street between Division Avenue and Byron Center Avenue.

If you live in Wyoming and have a surveillance camera, McCarty said it would be helpful to check footage between Nov. 21 and Nov. 22. If the video shows her dad walking by, it could be essential for the investigation, McCarty said.

AM, the daughter of Ray Tarasiewicz, addresses the community support at the end of an almost two month search for her father in a statement, saying in-part quote:

"My family and I would like to thank West Michigan and beyond for the enormous support, assistance, prayers and well wishes they've shown our way the past 60 days."

[...]

The family is now receiving closure. Finishing her statement, AM said:

"In lieu of sending flowers, we kindly ask to make a charitable donation to any dog charity or rescue. Ray loved every dog he met and it's comforting to know a dog walker helped bring our family closure."
