Though time is growing short, I've always felt that he could be alive. His family certainly thought so in the SJR appearance in 1986. They wouldn't say why. The possible $2,000 embezzlement from the supermarket is rarely mentioned but does appear in some case write-ups. Maybe they knew it to be true. That would've been the equivalent of nearly $20,000 today and certainly much more in pesos if he did take off to Mexico with it. If he simply wanted to get away from his Michigan life that was more than enough to start anew in Mexico. He could very easily still be there, approaching 90, as the old man next door.
