I'm curious as to why there are no exclusions
.. if @othram is working on it from a genealogical standpoint that means there is dna yes?

So michigan didn't try and exclude anyone at all before handing it off?
It's possible the exclusion list is just private.

The Saginaw Police Department has provided a few more details to help explain why they think the young man might have ties to Detroit:

"Investigators have shared an update today that the young man may have attended either Martin Luther King High School or John Cooley High School in Detroit, MI prior to and/or during 1988. While Detroit is one possible city, other locations are not being ruled out at this time."

Source: Who is Saginaw John Doe (1988)?.

Please help spread the word. We are hoping to fully fund the case by next month so we can start DNA testing.
Hello, it’s been over 2 years since the last update. Will there be a new update soon?

From what I can see, his case has been completely funded.
Does anyone have the link to that spreadsheet that shows closest matches for all their open cases?

I had know idea about this spreadsheet. It’s been radio silence about this case and I’m curious to know what is going on.

I’m not aware of a spreadsheet sheet either. Might be thinking of the one DNA Doe Project has?

@othram Are there any updates on genealogy and/or exclusions for this doe? The last update I've seen is from almost three years ago.

“Unsolved Saginaw: The Murder of Saginaw Doe” begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the museum at 500 Federal Ave. The event is free to the public, with discussion led by historian Katherine Ellison.

The presentation is part of the museum’s “History After Hours” series, which usually focus on grittier topics of Saginaw’s history, Ellison said.

The John Doe’s body was found Oct. 8, 1988, at an apartment building in the 400 block of Carroll Street.

The slain Black man had brown eyes and black hair, with a slightly raised mohawk and fade on the sides. He stood 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighed about 165 pounds, and is believed to have been between 16 to 20 years old when he died.
