Detroit police search for missing 8-year-old taken by non-custodial mother

Samara Tucker reportedly taken by her mother at approximately 3:10 a.m. on January 4, 2019.

Samara is an 8-year old black female, 4'4", 70 pounds, light complexion. She was last seen wearing a pink hoodie, black snow pants, black and pink boots...

Detroit Police seek missing 8-year-old girl

Detroit — Police are asking the public for help to find an 8-year-old girl they believe was taken by her mother, who doesn't have legal custody of her, officials said.

Samara Tucker was allegedly taken by her mother, Jewels Patchett, 28, at about 3:10 a.m. Friday from a home in the 6000 block of Buhr near Sherwood Street and Nevada Avenue on Detroit's east side, police said.

Samara's grandmother has temporary, full custody of the girl, according to authorities...

She was taken at 3am in the morning from her grandmother's, who had temporary custody. I would venture a guess, imo only, that the mom has drug issues. It seems like that's the biggest reason grandparents are raising their grandchildren. I hope the mom returns her.
