Kalkaska County man now missing after saying he was headed to Traverse City

•35 yr old, male
•staying in Kalkaska County
•on April 8 got into a car with four people and told a friend that he had a tent and a bag, and was headed for Traverse City.
•last seen wearing a white t-shirt with "NSG" written in turquoise on the front & wearing blue jeans
•carrying a backpack

According to the sheriff's office, it's believed that Cenci was on his way to walk the Boardman River.

I wonder if LE knows who the 4 people were that gave Samuel a ride. I can understand why LE is worried about where Samuel is.

I honestly wasn’t expecting this outcome.

He was last seen on April 8 getting into an unknown vehicle with four people. The sheriff’s office says he told a friend “I have a tent and a bag. I’m going to TC.”
35-year-old Samuel Cenci was found dead in a wooded area near Keystone Road and Hammond Road on Monday.
The sheriff’s office says it’s waiting on the results of an autopsy.

Thank you, @mlhenn for finding that information. That's sad that he was found deceased, but I was thinking that it could be a possibility. I was worried about Samuel getting a ride from 4 unknown people, but it looks like he arrived near his destination. Samuel's remains were found in a wooded area right by the Boardman River. If Samuel had followed the river (and lake, then river again) northward, he would have reached Traverse City (under 5 miles). I'll be interested in reviewing the autopsy findings when they are released. RIP Samuel.
