Steven Wayne Smith’s roommates reported to law enforcement on Monday that he was last seen at about 8 p.m. Saturday at his residence on Lelah Lane near Devils Lake. His roommates reported Smith was in the hospital recently and went missing shortly after he returned home after being released from the hospital. Smith’s personal property is still at the residence, and his roommates said it is out of character for Smith not to tell them where he is going when he leaves.

Smith is described as a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall and about 260 pounds with long, gray hair worn in a ponytail. He is believed to have been wearing blue jeans, tennis shoes, and no jacket.

Despite the fact that it's "supposed" to be spring in Michigan, wintery weather (snow, freezing rain and cold temps) hit the area the past few days. Without a jacket, he would suffer from exposure. Current temp is 11 degrees (fahrenheit). Can't help but wonder if he got bad news in the hospital and chose to leave the world on his terms. While I hope that is not the case, where ever he is I hope he is warm and his soul is at peace.
