Detroit — Mitchelle Blair gave police gruesome details of how she allegedly tortured and killed two of her children nine months apart and left their bodies inside a freezer for another year, according to an investigator’s report obtained by The Detroit News...

...During questioning, Blair told Detroit police investigators she became enraged in August 2012 after finding out Stephen was allegedly sexually assaulting a relative, so she “placed him in a boiling hot tub of water until his feet blistered.” The report doesn’t say how he died, but that it happened on or about Aug. 30...

...Nine months later in May 2013, Blair told police she found out Stoni was allegedly sexually assaulting the same relative so “over the course of the next week, (Blair) assaulted (Stoni), starved her, serving her only a bowl of oatmeal a day and water,” the report said.

“Finally, they got into a physical confrontation when (Blair) strangled (Stoni) with a black shirt and suffocated her with a black garbage bag,” according to the report...

"“(Blair) stated that whenever someone would inquire as to the whereabouts of (the two children), she would make up an excuse,” the report said. “She even took (her other two children) out of school and told the school she was going to home school her children so they wouldn’t become suspicious as to why (Stephen and Stoni) hadn’t been in school,” the report said."

So she knew exactly what she was doing when she pulled the kids out of school. I wonder when she did that?

The two children who are deceased have different last names and while close in age do not appear to have been siblings. (Two different last names)

Wonder what happened to the mentioning of a Twin???

Does Mitchelle have some type of tattoo on her chest? Looks like letters in script. Can anyone make out what it might say?

I just can't. I just am so deeply saddened by the amount of violence will commit on their own children. I don't understand it. As a parent you do everything you can to keep them safe. The problem IMO is that people treat their children like they own them and not like they are real people. Children need more rights and more punishment when it comes to crimes against them.

And to add to that sentiment, it feels like our societal norms are expecting & supporting some of the "minor" behaviors against children by enhancing our generalized "personal security of NO ONE has a right to intervene/question" my activities as a parent (i.e. discipline, home-schooling indoctrination, religious fanaticism/indoctrination, racism, etc.).
Scarlett, welcome to my world of observing/documenting the interpersonal violence that exists.....is it greater than the past generations OR is it the fact that now the general population is/has become aware of this violence. One of the most disturbing case I had as a "newbie" was that of a female placing her child in a conventional oven, fast forward 20 years and I had another similar case only this time, a microwave oven & a male perp. Same result, death of a child, but a newer, faster methodology!
All politics aside, it DOES take a "village" to raise functioning, caring human beings~ Our "hands-off" & faceless, "not my job" society requires a re-boot, IMHO!

I am sure the siblings were terrified of her, I also believe they knew what was in the freezer. What a horrible way to live.

The first one died and the other three knew....then the second kid was killed and the other two were aware of both...hmmmm. I think things may have been a whole lot more twisted than they appear.

She obviously had complete control over the kids else they would have TOLD someone about the dead siblings, if she had that much control she probably could have gotten them to do all sorts of things, things that would give them reason to keep their mouth shut about the bodies in the freezer.

I would actually be surprised if the kids did NOT participate in the torture of their siblings, especially the young male that had supposedly been sexually abused by them.

"Records uncovered by the 7 Investigators show a history of child custody and child support disputes between Blair and the two fathers of her 4 children. She had full custody of the children.
Blair's other children, are a 17-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son, who have been taken into protective custody. Two of the child abuse charges apply to them. Sources say they have signs of trauma.
Alexander Dorsey, the father of Stoni Blair, and the father of the still living 17-year-old, was fighting to have custody over that teen, according to his sister."

It is a big day here on WS with several cases breaking, and now a huge fire in NY - let;s not let these children be forgotten, and especially the still living kids, whose nightmare might be over, but they'll have so much anger, damage and healing ahead of them... may they be loved and may they still get to be "kids".

"In a tragic revelation, the oldest child was forced by her mother to place Stoni's body in the freezer after she died, a court document revealed."

"The petition, which includes information from interviews with both surviving children, alleges that Blair, 35, tortured Stephen in the two weeks before his death by tying a belt around his neck, scalding him with hot water and putting a plastic bag over his head."

"Blair is accused of burning Stoni with a clothing iron, hitting her with a two-by-four and striking her with a hot curling iron causing one of her front teeth to break.
"Her mother refused to provide her with medical treatment," the petition alleges."

"The state is seeking to terminate the parental rights of the fathers of Blair's two surviving children, who are now in the care of a family member."
Today, during a juvenile court hearing – with the Free Press being the only media in attendance – Blair was patched in by phone from the Detroit Detention Center, as the two fathers of her children sat in the courtroom.

"The petition says each father "failed to protect his children from an unfit home environment where the children were physically abused, tortured, and murdered."

"This isn't the family's first contact with Children's Protective Services. According to the petition, the family had prior contacts with CPS on Sept. 18, 2002 and Feb. 21, 2005".

In addition to the abuse allegations, the petition also indicates that Blair had continued receiving assistance for all four of her children.
"Mitchelle Blair received $771 per month in food assistance for four children through March 2015, accepting governmental benefits for the two deceased children," the petition says. It says she also received Medicaid for the four children, as well, and last accepted child support for Stephen and her other son in December 2014."

DETROIT (WXYZ) - A petition filed with the state of Michigan to terminate the custody of Mitchelle Blair's two surviving children is giving a glimpse of what life was like for the kids in her Mound Road home.

The petition seeks to terminate the parental rights of Mitchelle Blair and the children's fathers, Alexander Dorsey and Steven Berry. Alexander if the father of Stoni Blair and Mitchelle Blair's 17-year-old daughter. Steven is the father of Stephen Berry and Mitchelle Blair's 8-year-old son.

Not much press at the arraignment earlier (FreeP says there were the only ones). Wonder if that was by design or lack of interest. I hope that the community living in and around the MLK complex comes together over this. I can't see anyone defending what happened at this point.

Michigan doesn't have the Death Penalty, but this is one of those cases that makes me wish we did.

I understand how you feel, and I can't say that I blame you. If this weren't a local case (I live in metro-Detroit), I would be out of here, too.

My thoughts and prayers are with the two surviving children who have endured unspeakable crimes in their own home by their own mother. Home should be one truly safe place for a child, and a mother should be love and care for her offspring. Those four children were denied both. Shame on this woman - evil personified. :moo:

FP were the only ones at the Custody Hearing with the Fathers

The Media was at the arraignment this morning. As a matter of fact after monitoring multiple live feeds it was Channel 7 that actually aired the proceedings Live. Maybe they were all so worried about the arraignment they didn't know?

Not sure why FP seemed to be the only MSM outlet that was aware of the custody proceedings?

ETA: Channel 7 just briefly mentioned on a 7pm all the new details that were covered in the FP article published at 5pm today. They said they will provide more details later at 10pm & 11pm

Considering how isolated the kids were even at the time of death, if we're looking for someone who sexually abused the dead siblings (if they did indeed abuse a younger relative), there's really only one option.
