According to article and video, two teenage girls fighting over a boy. I doubt the young man will ever give the survivor the time of day after this. Such sadness when children choose permanent solutions to temporary problems. Heartbreaking.

Two lives lost, really. One young woman is dead. Another young woman will be charged with first degree murder and will likely spend the rest of her life in prison. Both were honor students. What a waste.

wow.

From BDE's link a #3

The suspect and the victim used to be friends, according to police. Both were straight-A students. The victim was a member of the cross country team, the robotics team, marching band, color guard, student council and the National Honor Society, police said.

My younger brother (when living with my dad years ago) went to this high school. So sad that you go to school only to be killed there :(

How did the student get a knife into school? In this day and age security needs to be a priority for schools. Doesn't matter how good of grades or how wealthy the district might be, this could happen anywhere. School district is going to be on the hook for a huge lawsuit for lack of security.

Fouts: Girl posted threat about classmate online before stabbing

..."Warren PD is going through an extensive investigation, and we are meeting with them first thing Friday morning to go over the case and determine what charges will be brought," Smith said.

University of Detroit-Mercy law professor Larry Dubin said he didn't want to discuss any specific case, but added if someone broadcasts their intention to kill someone and carries it out, that would likely result in first-degree murder charges.

"Generally, the distinction between first- and second-degree murder is premeditation," Dubin said. "A statement that announces a person's intention to murder someone in the future, who then carries out an act to fulfill that intention, would certainly be relevant to providing a first-degree murder claim."...
