MI MI - Tamara Greene, 27, Detroit, 30 April 2003

JJ, I am so sorry. No offense was meant and I will stop using that word.

Suz, No apologies necessary!!! I just hate seeing "the girl" blamed for everything when oftentimes she doesn't even know the person she is getting involved with is in actuality involved with someone else. And I'm not referencing just the "scandal" cases as of late either LOL. in "regular" everday life too.

But as an example - Tamara, she was "doing her job" who knows maybe she was "doing extra" on the side..BUT it was Kwame who allowed her to be there but his screwy wife goes after "the girl" and not her hubby...Kwim?

Thanks for not being offended though by my request!:blowkiss:

Jade, I will certainly take more care. I don't blame Tamara at all for anything. She's the victim. IMO, the bad is on the public officials, not the women.

I think I've just become pretty jaded when it comes to public officials and let myself get a little too flippant. I will definitely honor your request.

This may seem odd to some. But I consider dancing/stripping to be a legit business. And it is legal it most places. Personally I would never do it. But I have known alot of men and women who put themselves through law or medical school doing it.

You know what gets me? Is certain lifestyles leave a person so vulnerable to crime. And yet that same lifestyle is why crimes against them aren't investigated. They still deserve justice and often don't get it.

thanks to you both...I'm in awe of how many amazing directions this thread has turned into! as well as the great conversations that are developing due to it.:blowkiss:

I think it goes back to the dated thoughts of someone's lifestyle being "key" instead of what happened to them. the whole "victim on trial" thing that I thought society had long ago moved past.

I didn't mean you were blaming her - please don't think that. I was more or less generalizing the situation in a whole - :blowkiss:

Just to reiterate: This is a thread about a CRIME, it just involves allegations regarding a local politician. This is not a political thread. This thread is about a murder.

Just wait until you have a thread that you're happily posting away in and POOF it gets transported. hmpfff

This is a thread about a MURDER. It just has a lot of interesting public figures who happen to be politicians. It is not about politics. Murder ... it's about a murder I tell you.

City Council members this week are expected to call for an investigation into government contracts awarded directly or indirectly to Ferguson Enterprises Inc., a heavy construction firm owned by a friend of the mayor, as the fallout continues to widen from the text message scandal. Those seeking a probe want to know, among other things, if Ferguson was shown favoritism because of his friendship with Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. (more at link)

Suzi, is this the same guy that had free access to Beatty and was able to get the insider stuff to help his bids?
