Warren police will execute several more search warrants Monday in connection to the murder of a 22-year-old Warren woman whose body was found in a plastic drum at a Plymouth Township storage facility.

Warren police commissioner Jerre Green says his department is working with Westland police; and, at this point, he can’t give many details about the investigation into the death of Theresa DeKeyzer. “The only thing I can say is we’re attempting to recover additional evidence,” Green said...

Green was asked if charges in the case could come this week. “Well, it’s hard to say,” Green told reporters. “There are a lot of things to do yet, and we’ll just have to see how it unfolds.”

Excerpt from Nancy Grace transcript, September 23, 2014. More at link: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1409/23/ng.01.html

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: 22-year-old Theresa Dekeyzer`s body that was found by police stuffed inside a barrel at a Plymouth Township storage

yard. Tips led them to a storage yard where they found a 55-gallon drum filled with cement. X-rays revealed the body of a woman inside.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Joining me, anchor with WWJ Mary Osbourne. Thank you for being with us. It`s my understanding the police actually x-rayed the drum

to discover the woman`s body, her body was folded up and stuffed inside?

OSBOURNE: That`s right. They had to x-ray that drum. They were led there to that location by a couple of tips so they wanted to see what was

inside that drum before they opened it. And that`s when they discovered the remains of a woman. They could see that there were some tattoos and

some jewelry on this body.

GRACE: With me is Marie Osbourne from WWJ. What do we know about Theresa Dekeyzer? I know she didn`t have any children yet. She was only

22 years old. Where did she live? What did she do? What do we know about her life?

OSBOURNE: She was one of eight children, Nancy, the middle child in fact of eight children. Her father had died a couple of years ago. She

lived in the suburb of Warren, which is about 10 to 15 miles away from where her body was found. She worked at a donut shop, and one of the tips

that police had that something here had gone very wrong was the fact that she had not gone to pick up her last check at that donut shop. She

disappeared on June 16th.

GRACE: Theresa Dekeyzer`s body has just been found folded over and stuffed into a 55-gallon drum. All right. Here`s the thing about that.

To Dr. Michelle Dupre, medical examiner and pathologist joining me out of Columbia, the perp went to a lot of effort to get her body inside a 55-

gallon drum. Not only that, then filled the drum with sand and corked it with cement and put it in a storage container, an RV storage. So how do

you get a human body, a 22-year-old woman into a 55-gallon drum? How is that possible, Dr. Dupre? .....

I am leaving here shortly to attend Theresa's funeral mass. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. Although the last three months has been incredibly difficult, I know today will probably be the most painful. We are saying goodbye to a daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and most of all a beautiful girl. We will be gathered together to remember, say goodbye, and pray for justice for Theresa!

DeKeyzer case now in hands of prosecutors

By Brian Louwers
C & G Staff Writer

WARREN — Warren detectives have given the results of their investigation into the death of 22-year-old Theresa DeKeyzer to Macomb County prosecutors for review, as the man labeled a suspect in the case remained jailed at press time on an unrelated charge in Midland.

An ongoing police investigation and an analysis of materials found with DeKeyzer’s body will likely determine if that man will in fact be charged in her death and disappearance, and what the exact charges will be.

“We’re still gathering more facts,” Warren Police Detective Sgt. Stephen Mills said Oct. 7. “We have enough at this time to support our case.”

DeKeyzer’s body was found inside of a plastic barrel in a trailer parked on a storage lot in Plymouth Township on Sept. 18, almost three months after family members reported her missing. The 37-old Westland man now identified as a suspect in her disappearance, reportedly told police he dropped her off near Van Dyke and Nine Mile Road on the morning of June 16, a day after police were called to a home on Lozier to investigate an alleged domestic assault involving the suspect and DeKeyzer, who was identified as the assault victim.

Police said the suspect was gone when patrol officers arrived on Lozier but that a search of DeKeyzer’s cellphone records later revealed that the man was the last person she called on June 15.

Investigators and family members searched for DeKeyzer in the weeks after she was reported missing, seeking tips through the press, printed posters, social media and Crime Stoppers of Michigan, which offered an award for information about her whereabouts.

DeKeyzer case now in hands of prosecutors

Detectives interviewed the suspect in Warren on June 23 and again in Westland on July 2, after they obtained a warrant to search his residence. He was later arrested and jailed in Midland County on a charge unrelated to DeKeyzer’s disappearance and remained in custody at press time.

Warren Police Commissioner Jere Green said previously that two separate tips came in after a newspaper story about DeKeyzer’s disappearance ran in early September. Both tips, Green said, eventually led investigators to the storage yard in Plymouth Township where the trailer containing the barrel with DeKeyzer’s body was found.

Mills said space for the trailer on the lot was rented to a third-party who claimed he was paid by the suspect initially. The suspect’s name and phone number were also reportedly listed as alternate contact information on the rental agreement.

Police said the trailer was still registered to a long-time friend of the suspect, who allegedly told investigators they were in a band together previously and that he had given the trailer to him.

Inside of the trailer, the blue plastic 55-gallon drum containing DeKeyzer’s remains was reportedly found filled with sand and capped with concrete, covered with clear plastic and sealed with black tape. The drum was reportedly secured to the inside of the trailer with straps and ratcheting tie-downs.

Mills said some of the materials used to package the body were sent to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab for forensic analysis.

Detectives also conducted more interviews and searches at locations in Garden City, Westland and Plymouth Township in the days after DeKeyzer’s body was found.

Barrels and tape similar to what was used to conceal the remains were reportedly found during a later search at the suspect’s home. Mills said the barrels were similar to those available at an auto repair shop in Garden City, where the suspect worked as a mechanic.

The man, whose name is being withheld pending an authorization of charges in the case, reportedly hired an attorney after the body was found and declined to be interviewed again by Warren detectives. Police were, however, reportedly granted the authority to take a DNA sample from the man, to be used as a comparison if DNA evidence is obtained from materials found with DeKeyzer’s remains.

Prosecutors in Wayne and Macomb counties have reportedly agreed that any criminal charges would be filed in Macomb County.

“We have the strongest investigation,” Mills said.

Scott Wobbe, 37, was arraigned Tuesday in 37th District Court in Warren on three charges related to the death of Theresa Marie DeKeyzer: first-degree homicide, kidnapping and disinterment of a body. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison for the murder and kidnapping charges. The disinterment and mutilation of a body charge is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

***this article does not say dismemberment but rather disinterment ... ??? Then says disinterment and mutilation of body ... So I dunno ...

Here is an article about yesterdays vigil and 5k that was done in Theresa's and all domestic violence victim's honor. Scott Wobbe's preliminary hearing is scheduled for tomorrow.

Harrison Township – — Dozens huddled at dusk Sunday around a candlelit photograph of Theresa DeKeyzer to remember the slain 22-year-old — and to warn others about the often silent danger of domestic violence.

Police say DeKeyzer was killed by her boyfriend, Scott Wobbe, 37, who was charged earlier this month with first-degree murder, kidnapping and disinterment of a body.

DeKeyzer, known as "Tree" to family and friends, was reported missing June 19. Friends and family peppered the area near her Warren home with fliers, but there were no leads until a Sept. 4 Detroit News story prompted two tipsters to phone police and direct them to a Plymouth Township storage lot.

On Sept. 18, police found DeKeyzer's remains inside a 55-gallon drum stored in a utility trailer owned by Wobbe but not registered to him that was parked in the lot.

"My sister was murdered, and her body was discarded like trash," Leah DeKeyzer, 27, said through tears during the gathering in Lake St. Clair Metropark on Sunday. "I recently got engaged ... and Theresa doesn't get to dance at my wedding."
