They found his car and keys at the Allegan State Game area after he had a meeting with the state police. Wondering why he would go there after leaving the police- maybe self harm? Unless he had another vehicle waiting to disappear on his own, what other scenario could have happened?

Odd. I wish we knew what the meeting was about. I've never heard about anyone leaving their keys in their vehicle and returning safely. I am hoping this was a planned disappearance set up to look otherwise.

Agreed. We're missing something, and to me, it has to do with the state police and whatever happened at that meeting. JMO

Goodness, that's a large area. I wish we had more specific information about where his vehicle was located.

Allegan State Game Area - Wikipedia

I wonder if he stepped out of his vehicle to use a restroom? I would like to know what he was doing there to begin with, though. I agree with you - odd.

The meeting could have been something very minor - a Freedom of Information Act request, paperwork to have a concealed carry permit for a firearm, clarification on a vehicular accident report. I could not find any criminal history in his county for him.

Yes, agreed. But, did he hear something that he didn't want to hear? Was he uncooperative? Was he angry or upset when he left?

I feel like the meeting with the State Police is an important detail due to the way they've mentioned it. If they didn't think it was relevant to his disappearance I think it would have been phrased differently. However, we've all seen how the media loves to sensationalize everything, so it's difficult to speculate.

Todd Lilge lived in TN for at least 5 yrs prior to checking himself in for counseling/treatment at Narrow Gate (Simple Truth Church - Narrow Gate) in Michigan in Oct of 2018. He checked himself out of the 1-2 yr program he was in, on 1/14/19, supposedly to attend Dr appts for pain management (meds), and was staying with his parents in MI, near Allegan.

A MI State Police investigator called Thurs night, arranging an interview with Todd for Fri morn. Note: This is an active case, with no information being released at this time. Todd showed up for the interview, but walked out on the investigator after only 5 mins. He drove to 125th and 43rd in Allegan County, abandoning his car and keys. This was on 1/18/19. His car was found on 1/19 and a missing report was filed then. The State Police conducted searches that following week with no results, greatly due to bad weather (accumulation of snow, wind, ice, etc). Media was not involved until 2/8/19 per his parents wishes.

He willingly met with the police but walked out after only five minutes. Just guessing, I have no insider knowledge, it sounds as though he was suspected of and questioned about something upsetting. He left and hasn't been seen since. I doubt he'll be found alive.

UPDATE 2/11/2019 says Michigan K9 Search and Rescue are in touch with Todd's parents and will be searching as soon as the weather breaks. They are requesting that people don't go into the area to search because the K9 team needs a clean scent trail. Should future searches be necessary, they will post a request for volunteers.

Thank you for the link. I read the very recent update on the page and could sense hostility in the text from those organizing the searches. I'm sure it's a frustrating situation with people wanting to help and also with people "looking for hidden meanings" and such. Hopefully they will have success in their efforts.

I a saw man Saturday evening, around 7pm, who looked a lot like him. I was in Wayland, MI. He kept smiling at me. I left a message with the State police so they could check the camera of the location I was at. Hope they find him safe.

Ugh, I feel so bad for his family.
It appears, at least to me, that there is something else going on here. I bet that he was maybe overwhelmed and decided to have a breather, or at least I hope so. Because it seems that he left the police and went missing, right after or shortly after, that there was no plan in place for him to run away. Wishful thinking that maybe he was able to call someone to pick him up. Doubt it.

all moo and speculation with my overactive mind
