“Investigators will be examining the details surrounding the safe and secure storage of the handgun as part of their investigation,” police said. “As of this point in the investigation, it does not appear that more serious foul play was involved.”

Hoping that the little guy is doing well and will have no recollection of this incident or of his injury.
Methinks the baby sitter is in a bit of trouble -- apparently Michigan law requires that gun owners must have firearms locked in storage containers if a minor is in the home.
