Conspiracy theory?

No.

Just haven't heard yet that his "solid" alibi fell through.

BBM - yet being the operative word.
IMO MSP would not be spending so much time and effort on searching the home of DS's parents if they thought his alibi was so "solid".

How long have they had that WalMart receipt? I'd think by now they would have seen the tapes and could tell who purchased those items.

Like I said earlier, they have much more info than we do. I'm sure they have seen the tapes. I'm sure they know who purchased the items.

They are still investigating DS. That tells me something.

I think his alibi must not be solid. They have more on him.

IMO they are gathering as much as they can so what ever actions they take will stick.

Just from what we know, there's a ton of evidence pointing to him. But for that alibi...

If his alibi is so solid, why are still invetigating him and searching his parents house?
Sounds like his alibi is not so solid anymore. Alibis fall apart all the time.

  • #287
And needed a tarp and shovel?
I wonder for what?

Are the only applications for tarps and shovels homicides? I wonder why Walmart sells them then?

Because he's the only POI at this time. So we've been told. His alibi can be solid, meaning he was in NN like he claims. Doesn't mean he wasn't involved.

Of course not everyone who buys a tarp and a shovel commit murders. I have a tarp and a shovel in my shed. I've had them for years. But, if I didn't, and I had been threatening my spouse, then purchased those items the day before he came up missing, I think that would be suspicious. JMO

All the info/evidence as a whole, where the items were purchased, when they were purchased, how some were found in the truck, some are still unaccounted for, the tarp wrapper being left in VS's parent's driveway...
When you add all this up, there is no other explanation why he needed those items from that Wal-Mart. JMO

Oh yeah, IMO he IS involved. No question in my mind.

I hope not. I've got both on my back porch. And gloves, too.

No hat, though. *whew*

But all this isn't doing police any good if they can't place him in MI on the morning of the 26th... or establish proof that he recruited someone else to abduct her.

So, who do y'all think put the stuff in his truck if he was in NN the day VS was abducted?

ETA: Nevermind, I realize this question could make someone answer in a way that would place blame on someone other that a named POI. sorry

  • #294
Do y'all think he just happened to need those items and drove to that Wal-mart to get them?
What would be the reason for that?
On the day before VS was abducted...sounds like a no brainer that he's involved.

Snipped:
Lt. Risko says Doug's presence in his parents home is what led to a search of that property.

“We had a couple of cadaver dogs that checked the area and it took a couple hours,” said Lt. Risko. “We did find some evidence that we believe related to the disappearance of Venus.”

Lt. Risko wouldn't say exactly what investigators founds, but Doug Stewart was there to see the discovery

Did we know this?

He's the most likely suspect. But if he was in VA at the time, they're going to have a heck of a time proving he was involved.

So, they found evidence that they believe is related to the abduction of VS.
And that Doug was there to see the evidence?

Not looking good for Mr. DS IMO

That's the first I've heard of it termed so specifically. Whoa!

If this is so, then I don't know how this guy could be termed anything but a "suspect."

So, now we not only have evidence in his truck, an eye witness that saw a truck like his across from VS's parents house, a tarp wrapper in the driveway, and evidence that LE believes is related to the abduction in DS's parents house.

LE is gathering a lot.
