They can't get an arrest warrant until they find VS. They have no evidence that a crime has been committed otherwise.

I disagree. They said they have evidence that links DS to his wife's dissapearance. They said that evidence was collected in VA, OH, and MI.
If they have the evidence that he is linked to her abduction, they can arrest him without finding VS alive or deceased.

False!

Casey Anothony was arrested before they found Caylee.
John Gardner was arrested before they found Chelsea.
Mario Andrette McNeill was arrested before they found Shaniya.

There are other cases as well.

They may not charge him with murder this early, but he can certainly be arrested!

I totally agree with this.

I think they should have arrested and charged him when they seized evidence from his vehicles.

Sheesh. They've metastasized all over.

I think they are ratcheting up the pressure on DS and I think it took some stones for DS to show up at the search of his parents house. So the game playing appears to be mutual.

Let's face it, DS' attorney would have advised him to stay far, far away from any LE activity.

I think that's why he stood across the street during the search.

I would have liked to have seen that too.

But, maybe they didn't have enough evidence then.
They've done searches at his apartment and his parent's home since then.
They say they have found more evidence in those homes linking him.
So, I think an arrest is coming. From the sound of that article, I think they are crossing the t's and dotting the I's and and arrest warrant is coming.

Risko also says they are still trying to get Doug Stewart’s pick-up truck back to Michigan from Virginia, for tire tread comparisons.

Seriously, they haven't figured out how to do this yet? The Amish could have gotten the truck back to MI by now. I'm not sure I want to trust an agency to solve a murder when they can't even get a Murder Truck from 600 miles away. MOO
I'm not surprised that they found evidence at DS's dad's house. There has never been even the slightest attempt to get rid of any incriminating items. DS had 10 days to clean out the Murder truck and failed to do so. I agree they don't need a body to charge and successfully prosecute him for murder. They should just go ahead and do it already. If they have any doubts about convincing a jury that he's killed VS, all they need to do is look at public sentiment. It's slam dunk.

My point is that he should not have been there. At all. I am sure his attorney is having a heart attack. It looks too much like a p***ing match between DS and LE.

That is the kind of arrogance that makes it look so much like he is capable of what he may be accused of.

Hmmm...well, they located DS the evening of the abduction and then they located the truck two days later IIRC. I have still seen conflicting reports of where it was actually parked-both two streets away and in a space at the apartment complex.

I feel pretty certain they impounded the vehicle when they found it-they probably didnt have to get DS' permission to look at it if he was/is not on the title. They might have had to get a warrant to seize the other car however.

DS didnt cooperate at all, right? So it seems unlikely he gave permission for any of the searching that was done....

Now, what might be the delay in having the truck arrive in MI? I cannot think of any, unless they are just misleading the public and the POI.

Oh, I agree.

IMO he had to be there, could not stand not to be. But, stood back a little as to not be right up in it, but close enough for LE to know he was there.

I totally agree with you.

Good morning, believe.
Good point about the truck being VS's. Would she have to have given permission for them to go through the truck then-until they got the warrant? I really don't know. At any rate, if you're too lazy to go clean out your Murder Truck for even two days until LE finds the vehicle, you should probably get LWOP just for stupidity.
The warrants for both vehicles were served on May 5th, FWIW IIRC MOO lol.

The day that they seached DS parents house, they had the driveway blocked off with a state trooper, so he probably was told to stay across the street, BUT , he should have just kept driving IMHO if he came home and saw the house was being searched.

Yes, he should have IMO.
But, he just couldn't. IMO
I think he has major control issues. He "had" to see what was happening.

Thanks Amanda! You are great.

Your work is very much appreciated.

He can be charged with murder even without finding her body...maybe not this soon, unless there is a significant amount of blood or the dogs hit on something...but eventually...

That would require evidence that she is actually dead though. If you can find an area that shows enough blood loss to conclude that the person was seriously injured or couldn't have survived, that would suffice instead of a body, otherwise it would be very unusual for that to happen.

They were arrested on other charges though.

You still require evidence that a crime was committed and that the persome accused was at the scene though. The "maybe a crime was committed" won't do it. Take Drew Peterson and that fellow in Utah(?) for example.

They don't have evidence that she was abducted though, the best they can say is that she is gone, possibly abducted.
