Venus Stewart Case: Police Say Doug was in Michigan hours before disappearance
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY - Michigan State Police Detectives are releasing a couple of new details in the case of Venus Stewart--the woman missing from Colon Township in Saint Joseph County.
In a press release today, MSP "is asking anyone who may have information regarding a person or persons who impersonated Douglas Stewart in the Newport News, Virginia area between Sunday, April 25 and Monday, April 26, 2010, to contact police." They ask anyone who had contact with Mr. Stewart, or someone claiming to be Mr. Stewart, on these dates, to contact police.
Lt. Mike Risko of the Michigan State Police the day Venus disappeared, says a man wearing a hoodie and tinted sunglasses entered a law office in Newport News, Virginia, and claimed to be Douglas Stewart, paying a bill. Police say they don't know if the man would be considered an accessory to a crime at this point, but want to talk to him. Risko went on to say that the State Police now have evidence that Douglas Stewart was in Michigan the night before Venus disappeared, but would not elaborate.
