I'm thinking the whole Busch Gardens thing really does not matter now since they have evidence he was in MI the night before.

JMO

Probably not...but they have to place him there on the date and time she disappeared.

But, c'mon... who buys multi-year passes at the end of summer. The park is only open on weekends after summer. And it gets really cold and often snowy in the winter. I don't buy my fishing license until March, because I know that'll give me all summer to fish. Same with a park pass... I'd wait to buy it at the beginning of the next season so that I'd have two full summer seasons on it. Instead of two off seasons and one summer.
Living that close to BG? Heck yeah I'd buy a pass to use year 'round. It doesn't get all that cold there and snow isn't all that common for that part of the state, along the coast.

When they went to Busch Gardens in the videos, it was obviously their first trip there--you can tell because of several remarks made during the videos. So they tried it, liked it, and may have planned on buying season tickets the following summer, but I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't buy expensive two-year tickets until the visited the park.

As for the photo ID, what kind? There are dozens of different kinds of photo IDs that would be legit enough to get into a park. And you can get a very realistic fake ID, if you want to pay the right amount of money for one.
They could have purchased the tickets at the park that day. In any case, I couldn't find what ID is permitted, but from the vibes I got in my phone call, and just judging from what I've read, they take their security very seriously. It's not just a matter of preventing fraud. That's a very large place with thousands of people from all over the world, and during the times I've been there, a large number of military people visiting (a lot of bases nearby). I'd consider that a prime target, and I'm sure they do too.

Actually, they just have make sure the defense doesn't have something placing him elsewhere. Which is what they're doing with the Douginator.

The walls are closing in.

Police have two reasons they believe there is an impersonator: investigators can place Doug Stewart at a Walmart in Ohio the night before Venus disappeared, and there is a witness who can place Doug Stewart in Michigan the day she was abducted.

24 Hour News 8 also learned investigators believe the impersonator was wearing Doug Stewart's clothes and had a hood over his head, and that the impersonator even paid one of Doug Stewart's bills.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for the laughs. This gets very depressing after a while, and it was good to blow off some steam. This case is very puzzling to me. On one hand, DS is so clever he finds a stunt double to fill in for him as an alibi, and then goes to MI only to be seen by old neighbors. He is clever enough to have another alibi that requires fingerprints, but leaves a tarp at the scene and the receipt for it in the truck. This could be the biggest game of cat and mouse ever. And, since we now know he does have an accomplice, will swamp dude be looked at again? So many questions. lol
But my biggest one still is, "Who is on the Wal-Mart tape?"

Spam, you are great. You and a couple others who play devil's advocate and who also demand proof for assertions are important to me, because you press me to find proof for stuff I post. It makes me a better poster and I respect you, Calliope, and a couple others for that.

I would think to get a conviction, they need to place him at the scene of the abduction at least.

Thank you, and you too :)

I have to agree with spam tho'... he's either the wiliest or stupidest criminal ever. I just can't figure out which.

WHAT?? Impersonator?? Uni Bomber? Swampman? Wearing Dougs clothes paying a lawyer?

  • #272
Is the truck an impersonator, also? :waitasec:

My god, can you just see this guy sitting around, kinda like Dr. Evil, thinking:

"Yeah, I know... I'll cook up an alibi. I'll get Mini-me to wear my clothes to... to my lawyer's office, yeah! And then... I'll give him my credit card so that he can pay my bill...oooo.... it has to work! Muahahaha!"

Today, he's thinking "Maybe the shades were overkill."

Well, first of all, my daughter doesn't remember. She said she knows there's more security than before, but she doesn't know if she was "printed". Good grief. She just went there 6 months ago.

So I called BG and verified they do scan pass holders. I asked what do they scan if someone can't use the scanner or is disabled, as in an amputee; how they verify the person is truly the one who owns the pass. She put me on hold and then came back sounding very suspicious, telling me that there are "agents" to take care of that.

GREAT. Now I'm on a watch list, and they have my phone number.

Homeland security has raised the terror alert level to RED in Williamsburg, Virginia. Film at 11.

Please, nobody else call them. They'll think we're in cahoots.

LOL LOl... Thanks for the laugh.

Typical male behavior, if he's anything like my hubby...looking at the big picture but forgetting to notice the small details. I realize all men are not the same. The probability that Doug discarded the tarp wrapper in the floorboard and didn't notice when the wind blew it out as he threw Venus in does not surprize me at all. He probably did think to have the tarp out and ready, he just forgot to get rid of the wrapper.

I originally thought that the DS could not be dumb enough to leave all of the clues behind in vehicles, etc, if he had done this...now I am pretty sure he could be that dumb...if he thought that no one would look into the incident of the man in a hoodie paying his bill as an alibi...he must think other people are are dumb as he seems to be turning out to be...to go to all that trouble and then leave a receipt in vehicle, is just too much for me...and can't wait to see who the poor son of a gun is he talked into doing this stand-in routine...JMO...

Seems like LE will be aided, once again, by the not-so-smart criminal leading a trail right back to himself...JMO of course

Aww shucks,:blushing:, thank you Puf. Your posts and timelines are priceless. You really are an asset to the site. You have the knack for organization that I lack. Everyone brings something to the table, and that's really a wonderful thing.

Well, either MSP has lost their freakin mind and absolutely has no problem with being the butt of every joke ever made a la keystone cops, or DS put an awful lot of thought into this plan and that does not bode well for Venus. :(

Snipped by me:

So they have evidence he was in MI the night before!!!

DS has some splaining to do!!!!!

In the other article, they say they have proof he was in Ohio the night before, and in Michigan the day she disappeared.
