Excellent point and one that concerns me too. See, someone had Venus make out a will right before she disappeared. And if someone in the family wanted Venus out of the picture, the best way to do it would be to pin it on the husband, right?

Even you can agree to that, no? I say that from a purely hypothetical sense, so I am not construed as to be "blaming" anyone.

See, I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next person-but someone has lost sight of their role in her family if they have done away with her and used her discord with her husband as their opportunity to do so. Because her family has made many, many statements to the press. And if you are going to mastermind something like this, keeping your head down and lawyering up is the better approach so your statements cannot be used against you later.

Oh wait a minute, that sounds like....huh.

Now, I am having a hard time swallowing the doppleganger theory being floated by MSP, but I also believe they would not have gone public with it if they did not have something to substantiate it. I think they are applying pressure in the hopes someone they are watching will lead them to VS.

IMO, all they have is him on video in Ohio. Or a douginator. Either way.

He has witnesses that place him in NN on Monday. They have A witness that places him in Michigan on Monday. He said/she said right now, as far as his whereabouts on monday.

That's all we know that MSP has.

Venus is more than likely dead. Her parents had no assurance that the judge would rule to leave the children with them instead of giving them to Doug in court Friday. The courts and DHS have access to the children, and have visited the children.

No family would put those children through that kind of emotional torture. Those kids can't just disappear. They are confused and worried about their mother. The oldest daughter doesn't even want to talk about her father.

We like to make sure that discussion here is based in fact, and that speculation and theorizing is also based on factual reports.

I haven't seen anything saying that anyone had Venus make out a will, nor that Venus' parents wanted her out of the picture. Please provide a link to your sources for this information.

LINK? Who "made her" do this? Everywhere she went, she told people that she was deathly afraid of him. So who "made her" do this? I'd love to see your proof for that statement.

The parents said right on TV she had made out a written will only days before her disappearance. Then she disappears?

Pretty convenient, if you ask me.

...and if she was so fearful of her husband, always looking "over her shoulder" as the family claimed, she would walk 100 yards to the road in her jammies without her phone, ID or house keys when it was 29 degrees outside with the wind chill?

That fits a person who is very comfortable at home, if you ask me.

If he was using the other vehicle, would would he?

Would you ? He would know if it was missing, a truck that nice yeah he would know.

Doug was smart to do that. Everyone was saying he was guilty before he even had a chance to explain what happened. See, in the USA, it is supposed to be "innocent until proven guilty", not "guilty because he was the husband". But now our country convicts on TV instead of the courtroom.

Convenient for whom exactly? Nobody MADE her make out a will... she did it because she was terrified of Doug, and her family members aren't the only ones who have told police that.

And, by the way, the mailbox was 80 feet away.

Not if he was working and going right home he wouldn't.

But get this. What if the truck never moved? See, no one has ever talked about that.

What if a different truck was used, and the receipt was simply planted? I mean, do you expect me to believe that the thousands of cameras on the highways between VA and MI didn't see his truck?

No. In the USA, jurors are the only people who are to uphold "innocent until proven guilty."

We in the public can think anything we want.

No one has claimed that Doug Stewart is guilty because he is her estranged husband.

Gosh, she was so terrified that she went out there in 29 degree cold weather without her keys, her phone, and her ID?

Why didn't she make out a will during all the crisis periods that she had with Doug before? She never once made out a will. But she saw the "light" when she got to Michigan?

The truck and the car were both parked two blocks away from the apartment building when they were found. Two days after Venus was abducted. Yet Doug didn't report either missing and refused to tell LE where they were.

Go figure.

Another thing. Doug gave police his alibi (through his lawyer). MSP have checked that alibi and have found that it wasn't Doug, but someone impersonating Doug. How do you figure that the McCombs could be involved in any way in that transaction of information?

Lord have mercy.

It's a lot easier going to a vehicle in another state and planting a receipt inside it, than driving the truck cross-country, isn't it? Sure it is.

But Doug thought only of creating a dozen doubles to do the deed, while leaving the receipt in the front seat?

FWIW, I asked an attorney on another forum about 'innocent until proven guilty'. This was his response:

Innocent until proven guilty is a legal device to require the prosecutor to prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. But we don't have to make that assumption since we aren't the jury. In the case of most accuseds there's actually a presumption they're probably guilty. Which is why bail is required and jail is given to those "innocent until proven guilty" who are flight risks and who can't make bail.

She was terrified. There's no doubt about that. Multiple people have said so.

The reason that she didn't make out the will before was because her daughter had never accused her father of sexual abuse until February 22. She was righteously fearful.

I notice that you never reply to posts that disprove your views. And you never provide supporting links or evidence of any kind.

Thing is, the McCombs didn't provide Doug's alibi. Doug did. And the alibis he provided have not proven to be him, but an impersonator.

But that is a classic tactic used to get custody in divorce/child custody disputes.
