The county prosecutor - district attorney stated today that nobody else is involved in this matter but Doug Stewart and Richard Spencer.

The swamp man was looking for his crack pipe!

Well, I find it at least as plausible at this point, and JMO, that someone might have scouted to find a place to bury a body, as to have looked for a crack pipe. Do you happen to have a link that I missed on this, Chickie?

My guess is he weighted her in the tarp and threw her in Sturgeon Lake...MOO

Finally an arrest! I've been on another forum lately and just came here to read the news. :behindbar

So sad though for the children who have lost both parents now. :(

I was joking about the swamp man looking for a crack pipe.

Could swamp man and Doug be the same guy? Or is there possibly a third person that RS didn't know about? You know... keeping your puzzle pieces separate?

ETA:: The only reason why I say this is because really most of their info is from RS right now... and if DS had a third accomplice in MI, then really... would RS know??

I believe they found Richard Spencer by reviewing the content on Doug Stewart's computer(s) as well as by accessing his various online accounts then subpoenaing the IP servers - sites for data, IM logs, messages, etc. They could have also been monitoring his current Internet activity. (This is just my opinion. I have no source for this theory.)

They may have found Mr. Spencer's fingerprints in Doug Stewart's car and tied those in with information they found on the Internet to determine he was the impostor.

Could swamp man's job have been to scout out the terrain, to see just which areas a person could be in for some amount of time and not be spotted?

I don't think swamp man had anything to do with this case, but I sure would love a swamp man forum. We could track swamp man sightings and stuff.

My new book to be published soon...

Well we do know that they met on XBOX live. I don't have an XBOX 360, I have a PS3, and I know that the way their network operates is completely different... maybe someone here knows? Maybe someone has a son who has an XBOX? I don't even have anyone I could ask, all of my dbf's friends play exclusively on the playstation network. (they think the xbox is junk... red ring of death and all that...)

Lol! With helpful hints like how to make a crack pipe for a buck! (I do NOT condone smoking crack. I've just watched too many episodes of cops!)

Really or is that a joke? LOL.

Bwaa haa haa! Never mind. I caught up reading and saw it was a joke.

Gave me a good laugh that was much needed, thank you!
(respectfully, as reading here gets tough sometimes so we all need to find a little humor sometimes).

apparently the connection that I had made is not "The Richard Spencer..." So I'm back to looking into it.. (which would be the reason why I'm using my myspace after turning into some kind of rabid facebook user...)

me too!

I was joking! But, I wouldn't be surprised if he was! Have you ever seen a crackhead who can't find their pipe? They go absolutely nuts!

No. The reporter just stumbled up his words a bit. Dustin spent time with Doug. He said Venus would have accepted Doug for who he was if he would have just been honest with her. And that she went to VA with Doug to protect the girls (from Doug).

bbm~

Hi Amanda!.. do we know what the brother meant by this?..that Venus would have accepted Doug for who he was if he had been honest?

btw~ BIG THANKS for all your great pictures!

"In recent days, Jasper said, his grandparents were getting calls from someone pretending to be Venus. He believes it was just another attempt by Doug Stewart to throw police off his trail."

My comment: If this is true, what female would participate in something like this. That is so cold.

omg that is disgusting

it's horrible enough that people would help him plan a murder & cover-up his involvment and now someone else is in the mix torturing her grandparents

who are these people & how was doug able to manipulate them into helping?! I hope the FBI can track down the callers and nail them too

I had a guess or two, but maybe gambling? Maybe that is why their MI home went into foreclosure, I dunno.

But... I thought DV was the main problem in the marriage, and I have never seen any reference to gambling or cheating or anything.... just that Doug was controlling and that she was afraid of him and she knew he was coming to kill her.

(and thank you for the thank you)

ETA-
Thinking more about this...

Venus' brother makes no sense saying that with what we already know or suspect about Doug is true.

"She would accept him if he was honest"

Domestic violence? no
Control? no
Child molester? no

So, anyways, I am still clueless.

About the phone calls to the grandparents, there are all sorts of apps out there to disguise your voice and phone number. I'm guessing that was Doug.

What are the odds that the first person Doug Stewart asked to impersonate himself so he could drive to Michigan to kill his wife agreed to participate, especially an apparent stranger whose friendship was made online?

Could it be there are others who Doug approached who have come forward? Could there be others who have not come forward for fear of what Doug would do to them?'

Damn you Richard Spencer for not reporting Doug Stewart's murderous scheme to the authorities! How could you agree to participate in such a dreadful act, knowing full well Doug had two little daughters and that he was going to kill their mommy?

I sure hope they didn't give Spencer a free ride for getting Doug. That would suck.

County prosecutor Doug McDonough said the following during the press conference today. (See my notes posted in this thread):

"I fully expect him (Mr. Spencer) to face *some charges but we have not charged him today."

"I have a very good idea what I'm going to charge him (Mr. Spencer) with."

*Note he said some charges as in more than one.
