I'm praying for Venus's daughters...

Doug's arrest was inevitable, we knew it would be coming, it was just a matter of time. I thought it was odd about the article stating the test results were expected back soon, it almost felt like a pre-curser. I know the newest article announcing his arrest says it's not linked to any forensic evidence at this time, but I can't help but wonder if there were preliminary results back already...

May I just say... this guy screwed up pretty bad, he went through all the trouble of getting impostors but he left ALOT of evidence in the truck. I thought he would have been arrested LONG before this.

Just to clarify, if they find brain tissue for example, even a small amount, and it comes back to Venus she is unlikely to have survived an injury that caused her to lose brain tissue...or lung tissue KWIM?

respectfully snipped. It is odd. Maybe he knew his goose was cooked and he fessed up with a deal of somekind. I'm taking a wild guess at the sexual abuse charges being dropped in exchange for a murder plea of some kind and details where her body was located? Pure speculation, but that is the first thought which popped into my head after this news about his arrest for Venus' murder was confirmed via the pp links.

I doubt it, the abuse charges were civil, meaning there wasn't enough evidence for a criminal charge. The worst he would have faced would be a loss of custody.

The only two reasons for an arrest IMO would be them finding her body or a confession by DS. I suppose they could charge him on an assumed homicide, but the evidence they have as far as we know is not enough to sustain that. I doubt there is any witness that could result in him being arrested, unless someone else was involved directly with the homicide and they confessed, but that seems somewhat unlikely.

After learning of Doug's arrest, Newschannel 3 went to the home of Venus' parents where we found several state police cars and detectives outside.

One detective told Newschannel 3 that Venus' father, Larry McComb, was not feeling well and that it was not a good time to talk.

MY COMMENT: I don't think several state police cars and detectives would be at Venus's parent's house if Doug were simply arrested for child molestation.

Since he was arraigned already for inappropriate sexual contact with his daughter, the arraignment tomorrow has to be for murder or kidnapping, in my opinion.

or quite possibly his parental rights stripped. I don't believe LE would go forward with an arrest if they did not feel they had enough to convict. Too risky.

Sue Hungerford Billings, a family friend of Venus's parents, wrote on the wall of the Facebook group "Where Is Venus Stewart" that Doug was arrested for murder and that Venus' mom is in the hospital.

I've just asked her where she learned that he was arrested for murder, if it was through the press or from Venus's family or friends.
