What about Virginia, after all that is where HIS crime occurred. They wouldn't be bound by any agreement he had with Michigan authorities.

That's exactly what I was wondering, thus the question I posed earlier. The prosecutor had Ricky Spencer by the balls, so to speak, and may have "tricked" him into believing he would be safe from prosecution.

I doubt Ricky Spencer asked for a lawyer when first approached by the Michigan State Police detective, a big mistake on his part but fortunate for the prosecutor.

This sounds like a classic case of 'grooming' on the part of predator Doug. moo

If they were playing together online and knew each other since 2008, not likely.

I find it hard to believe they had anything solid on him, unless there were actual e-mail communications it would have been allmost impossible to have tracked this guy down and implicated him. I think most of what they "have" on him would have been volunteered by him, not come through investigation.

DaniCarlsonTV8: Spencer's mom sits in the front row with her eyes closed her head laying on her husband's shoulder clutching his hand as her son testifies

2:01 DaniCarlsonTV8: Spencer says Doug gave him hoodie, shoes, socks, hat, credit card, cell phone to be Doug's alibi

2:09 DaniCarlsonTV8: Spencer:He told me he called Venus' house pretending to be the mailman...he told me she tried putting up a fight...he got her in a headlock

Did I just hear someone laughing? If so, how inappropriate!

Well, if this guy really did what he says he did (even if he didnt), he is a joke of a human being. Pathetic.

This makes me feel so many emotions I can't begin to describe them all and will refrain from expressing my opinion about Doug Stewart except to say I wish the man was never born!

DaniCarlsonTV8: Spencer: "I asked him before, 'was it all worth it?' and he said 'to protect his kids and give them their future it is.'"

They found him, I believe, through carefully investigating Doug Stewart's MySpace friends.

I gasped when I read it....it is just so sad. and to see the accomplice speak about this so matter-of-fact. I can't believe it. :(

I know it is just so very very sad, I just can't imagine. What on earth was Spencer thinking. This is a human being we are talking about not a fricken video game. :furious:

Is his myspace page still up so we can have a look?

No. He deleted it immediately after the media featured stories about the impostor.

When trying to determine the identity of Richard Spencer, I followed up on a comment left on a newspaper article about Richard in which the poster claimed to know Doug Stewart and Richard Spencer from gaming with them online and stated he was 20 years old and from Delaware.

Sue Billings, a friend of the McCombs, commented on the Facebook page "Where is Venus Stewart?" that Doug was friends with Richard Spencer on MySpace.

So, I conducted a search quite a few days ago and arrived at the conclusion that Richard Spencer was Ricky Spencer (age 20) of Bear, Delaware because his MySpace page had been deleted and the last log on date was two days after news hit the media about the imposter and one day after Doug Stewart's last log in to MySpace.

Ricky Spencer's MySpace page is only available through a Google cache here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...0+years+old+deleware&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

DaniCarlsonTV8: Spencer's attorney says his testimony will mean he would face a maximum charge of manslaughter in county jail...sentencing could be less

I am not sure who is questioning Spencer right now but he was being asked about going to Busch Gardens with Doug, lying to his parents about it (hanging out with Doug). Even though he is 20 yrs old and really didn't need his parents permission, they still liked to know what he was doing and who he was with. Also, there was a question about their age difference but I couldn't quite hear it.

Then he was asked about the word alibi, if Doug actually used the word "alibi" or not. Then I lost sound again, so I don't know what his answer was.

I really hope one of the news stations has the whole hearing online later, this is so frustrating not being able to know everything that is going on.

Ya, I had a recollection from early in the case that people had looked up his MS and FB accounts, and they apparently had been rarely used. The two earliest references were this and this, where the poster says that when he first looked at the MS page DS hadn't been on for years, but shortly after that accessed the page. If LE had gotten access to the account, they would surely have known that.

In this post it says that his FB account had 5 friends, again that suggests little use.

It kind of makes you wonder if this guy has some sort of mental issue. That might explain a lot.
