This looks to be the Open Murder statute:


767.71 Indictment for murder and manslaughter; charging act.
Sec. 71.

In all indictments for murder and manslaughter it shall not be necessary to set forth the manner in which nor the means by which the death of the deceased was caused; but it shall be sufficient in any indictment for murder to charge that the defendant did murder the deceased; and it shall be sufficient in manslaughter to charge that the defendant did kill the deceased.

Mr. Spencer is the impostor they found.

Won't comment on how he knows DS, only that he's an acquaintance...

I guess the impersonator theory is not so "out there" anymore.
He has been located and is cooperating. He is an aquaintance of DS. Was in NN posing to be DS the day of the abduction.
They had conspired together since the beginning of April.

Mr Spencer conspired together with Mr Stewart since the beginning of April and Venus' body has not been located.

Numerous different sources including Mr. Spencer, they are convinced VS is deceased.

They HAVE NOT found Venus. But based on info from Mr. Spencer they believe she is deceased. He is being very cooperative. At this point there is no charge against this Spencer fella...

One interview conducted yesterday by 2 MSP detectives that were on loan to them from other jurisdictions.

They believe DS and Spencer conspired together. Began in April.

DS Lured VS (as we thought) abducted her, killed her, disposed of her.

The clothing Mr. Spencer wore in NN as he was impersonating DS was exchanged back to DS.

Mr. Spencer was not able to shed light on where VS might be.

Now I believe 100% that the reason for Venus's mother's hospitalization is because of the information they found out yesterday...

Then they got together when DS returned to VA, exhanged the identification material and went their separate ways...Mr. Spencer does not know where her body is, we are relatively convinced that Mr Stewart does know.

There was no financial gain for Mr Spencer

Family is very saddened and very confused.
They will be meeting with them to let them know the next steps and where they are headed.
They feel terrible for their loss and hope they can get through this.

Mr. Spencer does not know where body is, but DS does.

Based on the info they got Mr. Spencer did not recieve any kind of compensation for impersonating Doug.
