A few of the cases this article mentions happened nearby and within days of this JD's discovery (Mar 22, 2019). All of the victims were found in abandoned houses.

Who is Jane Doe and was she a victim of the suspected serial killer?

Family of suspected serial killer's first known victim upset with how they say investigation handled
Posted: 6:17 PM, Jun 06, 2019

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Relatives of 52-year-old Nancy Harrison told 7 Action News they don't like how the investigation into her death was handled and wonder if the hunt for her killer could have started earlier.

"She had a broken nose, jaw, scratches all over and the detective said it was an overdose," said Gary Harrison Jr, Nancy's brother.

Nancy's body was found on March 19 in a vacant house on Coventry near East State Fair on the city's east side.

Several days later, the body of Travesene Ellis, 53, was found in a vacant house on Linnhurst near Gratiot.

Then on June 5, Travesene was last seen alive on April 21.

Then on June 5, inside a vacant house on Mack near Mt. Elliott, the body of a third woman was found.

This article is specifically about Jane Doe's discovery. This is either Nancy's remains or Jane Doe was murdered right close in both time and distance of Nancy. NamUs lists JD was found in a vacant lot though. And the article above says Nancy was found on March 19th.

Ok, I'm officially confused. Help, please.:)

Tada, finally! Identified as Stephanie Davey, 28.

Family of Ferndale woman fears suspected serial killer could be tied to her death

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Three days after the body of 52-year-old Nancy Harrison was found in a vacant house on Coventry near Remmington, the body of Stephanie Davey, 28, was found less than a half mile away behind a vacant building on the 600 block of East State Fair.

Detroit Police believe Nancy was killed by suspected serial killer Deangelo Martin, and now Stephanie's loved ones can only wonder if her death may also be tied to Martin.

Snip

Stephanie's body was decomposed when she was found on March 22. She wasn't identified until some of her friends, searching a database of Jane Does, knew she'd been found dead when they saw her tattoo of one of her son's names listed for a Jane Doe.
