Northern Michigan party store owner disappears; family frantic

The owner of the convenience store in Harrison, Mich., is missing and his family is searching for clues.

William "Bill" Irwin Rouech Jr., 50, was last seen at his business, the Long Lake Party Store in Clare County, at approximately 10 a.m. on March 27.

Family members said they initially believed that Rouech was headed up north toward Grayling, but he never made it there.

"That was our best guess, when everything first happened." said his daughter, Elizabeth Rouech. "But as of now, we're not 100 percent certain."

She believes Rouech is traveling on his own in his pewter 2004 Chevy Silverado ½ ton Quadrasteer pick-up with no topper, since that is the only vehicle that he owns that is not at his home. The pick-up truck, which is dented and rusty, has palm tree and margaritaville stickers on each of the back passenger windows. The license plate number is DTY 8196.

Rouech is 5-foot-10 and about 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and his hair is gray and black. He walks with a slight limp due to a bad knee.

His phone was used last at approximately 10:40 AM Tuesday, March 27. It was traced to an area just off Meredith Grade Road in Meredith, Mich, west of M-18.

His daughter said Rouech is a self-sufficient man and likes to trail ride and explore the woods around Houghton Lake, Rosommon, Gladwin, Harrison, and Meredith.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clare County Sheriff Department at 989-539-7166.

sad... no foul play... so young...

OT but whenever I say "party store" to anyone who lives outside of Michigan, they think it's a store with balloons and steamers and plastic tablecloths!
