I couldn’t find her anywhere in the OTIS Michigan inmate database and no recent update from MSM. Her old inmate profile is an error page now. I wonder if something happened to her ?

An Ecorse mother charged with second-degree murder and child abuse in a case that stunned police and the Downriver area will not serve time in prison.

Lisa Reed, 33, was found not guilty after a three-week trial in connection with the July 28, 2020 death of her 13-month old son, Zyaire, and abuse of his twin, Zion.

One person who testified and has been quite vocal about the case is retired Ecorse Police Inspector Tim Sassak.

The retired inspector, who was involved with the case from day one, spent three days on the stand recalling the events of that time and how the case was handled.

After the verdict was read, Sassak said he was shocked.

“At the end of the day, it’s a mother’s legal duty to protect her children,” Sassak said. “She didn’t do anything. She had to know. I’m just very disappointed in the jury.”

He went on to say that there were many other people who could have stepped in before things with these children turned tragic.
