RC, and she was pregnant.

Scandi, any possibility that that report may get rewritten after the final one from the ME? The officer who wrote it would have to testify to and why any changes were made. Then on the other hand maybe they are not allowed to rewrite so corrections have to be made on the original? Someone on ctv said that's how the medical files work. No white out or anything.

J2, in the Robb case LE originally thought she was shot in the head because she was in such bad shape. The ME told them it was blunt force trauma and her husband was no Hercules looking dude.

Quess someone would not want to claim the baby was not Jy's with that blood sample having been collected. Jog my memory on the Robb case - was a crow bar the weapon in that case?

I really don't know. Remember I am the CSI Miami and Forensic File gal! I've learned today though that some people call this a preliminary AR, in re to Michelle. I also read that there is no way this report could be introduced as evidence because it would be picked apart, and for another matter is not complete. I thought the same thing about not being able to rewrite the report as then it would not be the original AR.

Isn't that funny, it just upsets me that this medical Dept is so lax when it should be prone to perfection. I mean, even the numbers weren't written neatly  Has anyone seen a photo of Dr Greene? I'd like to see what he looks like. Baa Haa Haa Haa Ha :slap:

Scandi,

You were on the Pam Vitale board - you know I had an incredibly hard time thinking about that one. When that AR came out I was literally sick. I thought there couldn't be anything worse as Pamela was beaten everywhere. I have reconsidered that opinion after this case - the intense focus is IMO far more disturbing than the randomness exhibited in the Vitale case.

This was absolute, leave no doubt, annilhilation on the part of this killer. It was all about the killer and what he wanted...at least Dyleski was just evil - this killer was perfectly sane and completely devoted to himself IMO.

Pamela, her last minutes of life were for the absolute right to retain it! I think it was mayhem all over that room, and he was hitting her with different pieces of molding, looking for things to bludgeon her with and then a slip and fall in the kitchen leaving blood on the dishes. She was brutalized but not annilhated. It's like her killers brain was scattered, not focused.

With Michelle it was so different, as the killer came with her death in mind. I have come to believe that. Over 30 blows to the head itself, 3 or so to the shoulder which I think were slips when he was hitting her on the side of her head at the end.

And the first thing I think he did was stun her with a well aimed chop to the mouth. That is how street kids fight - gangbangers. They instinctively aim to do damage where it counts, like the head area.

Reviewing the AR drawings today I noticed there were seemingly 3 lacerations on her lips, and they were drawn specifically. I wish you'd take a peek at that drawing. The immediate thought I had was that those 3 lacerations showed semblance of a weapon. It is too hard to try to explain it, but I bet the coroner could tell what kind of weapon made those cuts. For instance, the two on the bottom lip are close at the top and wider out at the bottom, like an inverted V with the tip removed.

Yep, that's the one. She wanted a divorce and he was hiding money she found out about. He was a professor at Penn State. A crowbar and shovel were missing.

Scandi, you know what they say about doctor's and their handwriting. This makes him official.

I really hope there are many reports, warrants, etc. that are sealed and a lawful technicality allows them to release this stuff instead.

There's also the fact that many LE officers aren't great paperwork writers but better on scene investigators. ;)

Swabby,

At 17mpg:

Raleigh to Hillsville - 10.1 gallons (172 miles)
Hillsville to Duffield - 9.1 gallons (154 miles)

Total 19.2 gallons - 22 gallon tank

At 18mpg:

Raleigh to Hillsville - 9.6 gallons
Hillsville to Duffield - 8.5 gallons

Total 18.1 gallons - 22 gallon tank

This does not take into account the gradient changes between Hillsville and Duffield (the Appalachians) which would be uphill most of the way. Probably do able. If there was a return to Raleigh - there is definitely a gas purchase unless the gas receipt for Raleigh was a fill up on the return to Raleigh which would have had to have been before midnight 11/2.

Scandi, I've just got to think that Raleigh's probably had many murders. If they're continuing to perform their autopsies & write up their reports as they've always done and not run into any problems at trial, it must be ok.

There. That's my attempt at RC optimism!:D

I remember back at that time Jake you posted stating you were writing a letter to WRAL, to Amanda's boss. You were unhappy also with the reporting as I remember as well as with LE. We were discussing the AR at the time and how sketchy we thought it was. But I know I didn't put 2 + 2 together to think you might have had a reason to think the rape testing should have been done on Michelle. Then again, I don't remember there being thought at the beginning of the case the murder might have been sexually motivated.

michelle could have been raped by jay that night

Ok, so no mention of the toxicology which I think is standard but takes awhile to get the results. Would the radiograph be the test to determine no metal particles you think?

Hi Strach!

I thought the radiograph might have been done for her teeth. :waitasec: Or was that already accounted for on the AR?

I just read Scandi's description of where Michelle might have been in her room, and I can't stop thinking of Cassidy finding her mommy like she did. :(

i really tend to think that is how she got pregnant so fast after losing the other baby.

Re Radiograph. In the AR this comes under 'Additional Procedures' and all it says is Radiographs: A radiograph of the head does not show metal fragments.

About the teeth:

"Accompanying the body there is a small envelope labeled "teeth from near victim's head." It contains several bloody teeth and fragments that belone to the victim, demonstrated by placement into sockets. The teeth are photographed and released with the body.

aww man, i had a nice long post written and i hit the wrong button and deleted it.

thanks scandi again for the walkthru of the bedroom earlier. i was thinking about that. hoping too i guess for Cassidy's sake that her mother was facing the far opposing wall from the doorway. we know that is a relatively small space, so unless cassidy climbed over her, maybe Michelle's back was facing her? i really try to down play in my head what Cassidy saw and hope that she doesn't remember the horrible scene.

just a little something to toss around. if Michelle was facing that way, is it possible that more blood was between Michelle and the far wall and not so much between Michelle and the door? i still think Cassidy probably tried to wash blood off herself.

It's possible but I would think there would be more bruising everywhere, as in struggle. This ME did seem to make note of many scratches, bruises, lacerations, abrasions etc.

Why not find out who killer Michelle? If there was some evidence of sexual activity in that room, match that evidence to the killer. By evidence, we might be talking about DNA.... so match it to someone. If it matches Jason.... so what? But if it matches someone else, maybe you have your killer.

Of course, i realize some evidence might have been buried. I think everyone who thinks Jason is innocent is angry about that.

--Jake

evidence might have been buried all right, bloody evidence buried by jay (the killer).
