The only case I can think of that's comparable, is the Justin Barber case. IIRC, it was almost two years before they brought the hammer down on ole Justin. Here's the link on the case:

http://www.courttv.com/trials/barber/

Another "prince" who was fooling around on his wife, before he shot her on the beach, claimed it was robbers, also shot himself in his chest. Police found research on gunshot wounds to the chest in his pc. Another bright light.

I think it means the poster is currently online.
I recall seeing parts of that trial (my wife keeps the tv in the barn on at CTV constantly) and could not believe the extreme he went to to eliminate his wife. That episode made me re-think seriously about the accident in this case. For the life of me I can't figure the depth of whatever it is that drives these jokers to these extremes. Be a man, talk it out and walk away. May cost you a bit but at least it beats murder and sitting in jail waiting to die. Something bad wrong there...JMO

I just completed the evening check of the media outlets, still nothing being said. Does anyone recall a case where there has been such a near total blackout ? I have often in the past been critical of the media for releasing too much information, this is amazing. Its going to be hard to argue for a change of venue in this case. JMO.

P.S. Anyone know what that big green dot after your handle means? Except for Scandi - her's is dark blue. Are you really special Scandi luv ?
I seem to remember feeling this way after Scott Dunn killed his wife Brandi. Maybe I wasn't up on that case totally but I remember searching for news daily, then weekly, then monthly...until he was finally arrested for her murder. Very timely too, if I remember it. I think he was headed towards a Steeler's game when he was arrested.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's from memory.

Hi ya Charlie,

I'M HERE! Only spending a bit of time over at the Mt Hood tragedy as it is kind of in my back yard, so to speak. I do check in though to see whaz up. When I log in, I keep it on until I go to bed at night instead of going in and out all day long ;} Nice to know someone's thinking of you though. :blowkiss:

I've been soooo ready for any news, and I guess the biggest news in the case is that the family is now trying to control the forum at CTV, evidently with just cause. There are some really blunt posters over there so it is a different world from here. I did join there a couple of weeks ago in case I might want to make a post. I have made 3 and they all fell flat as a doormouse under the rug. LOL Oh well, I'm just not too comfortable yet there, even though I've read there for about 4 years.

I'm also thinking they won't make a move on an arrest until the SUV warrant is made public and maybe not until after Christmas. But it would warm the cockles of my heart to see him arrested this Saturday. Guess I'll close my eyes and wish real hard.

Have we heard from our world traveler? ;) Hope she is having a great time and making good business. Scandi

No news on this case today Scandi. Maybe soon.

I watched a bit of the efforts on Mt. Hood yesterday, was very disappointed when they found the cave and it was empty. Even more disappointed later, very sad. Am hoping they find the other two but last I heard they seem to think they fell down a steep slope and it is not sounding good. Very sad, the rescuers are trying so hard but facing so many obstacles...say prayers.

The big green dot tells whether or not your online. You're online and I am too since mine is green.

The blueys are either offline or they've set their status not to be shown....which makes me giggle as we know they're there when they post.
I've been posting at WS since the first week of the Laci Peterson trial and I have NEVER noticed the green dot before. LOL - I guess I'm not such a great detective after all.

I keep reading every day but still no announcement of an arrest. To tell you the truth, this investigation seems as closely guarded as Canadian investigations. Everything is kept absolutely quiet until a trial (other than the arrest, of course) and then the only information anyone gets is what is presented at trial. It requires soooooooooo much patience.

The English are also this way - the media can report a crime but nothing relating to the details of the crime other than the crime itself (murder etc), nothing on suspects etc unless it is a plea for help. They can report the arrest as well and information from the trial, but that is it. We are a tad spoiled aren't we ? I found an article a while back from WRAL, a woman who was killed in October - her autopsy report was just completed late last week. So if this is average the final AR for this case will most likely not come in until after the New Year.

Perhaps you know this Otto, in reviewing what links we have, the Sheriff has indicated there is a private lab also working on samples. Will the Sheriff be required to wait for results from the State Crime lab even if he has results from the private lab (depending of course on what they are analyzing) ? Any idea ?

I for one am glad that thread is gone. As Strach knows (:) luv you Strach) I am entirely anal and don't handle unsubstantiated bs very well.

Sorry Strach - can't let you off for agreeing with me on that point - but as always, am teasing and smiling the whole time. :)

I have had to adopt that term for myself when I felt it necessary to snitch on my nephews for writing bad words on the sidewalk in chalk during a recent visit. :waitasec:
Oh but wait, imo they shouldn't even know how to spell them at that age. Yes, being anal can be a good thing. :)
You have a tv in the barn? Are you just funnin?

Bee, thanks for the link and the laugh. You have such a way with words. :)

Sure am glad I can joke around with you Strach  There really is a tv in the barn - sits right in the lounge area overlooking the arena. Lots of times we humiliate our clients by video taping them while they are riding so they can see how they are doing, and how they are at fault for the horse failing to perform. (They know when they are being taped.) It works well for a rider to be able to see themselves...they always claim it is the horse's fault until they see the tape....:bang:

RC, I'm not Otto but I am of the opinion that the forensics are the cause of no arrest as yet. I'd think that results period wouldn't have to be synchronized other than if LE wants to make sure there is no chance there will be anything unaccounted for as to other suspects besides who they will be arresting. For example if the private lab is doing the SUV that wouldn't matter if they were going to arrest Jason but say a robbery suspect it would matter if they arrested him before making sure there wasn't loads of MY's blood in the SUV. Vice versa for the house as an example if they were to arrest Jason they'd want to be sure there's no evidence of an intruder. Tying up the defense ends before even making the arrest may be the target and why the sheriff wanted the media to report about the forensics end being slow coming.

ETA: Remember in the Peterson case all the stuff they had to do as they went along to disprove the defense theories because of the bulls eye target claim.

Good thinking - probably spot on as well.

Okes, I'm known to make changes of subject as no notice, lmao...Voice Mails..

Now here's another prob for me with not being over there, lol, (someone on ctv (I think it was ocean but I'm not going back to check, but thank you to them :) ) pointed out for me that it is rare for someone to be cleared over there before an arrest, so this is another area that may fit there too in my 'lack of knowledge of US procedures', which I am enjoying learning tidbits that differ to here :) )

When trying to contact immediate family isn't a message left on answering machines/cellphones asking for that person to contact LE as soon as they receive 'this message' on *such and such number*? It is done over here, even if another NOK has to be contacted within a certain timeframe because of not being able to reach the first NOK.

IMO> If he was checking his voice messages quite a lot, and one of those messages was left. He would've heard it. And if it were me......I'd be ringing back immediately after hearing it. After all....they may have been trying to contact me in regards to an accident involving my wife and child..

Wouldn't you contact them back straight away?
