It could be that LE put a GPS on the suv so that they could keep track of him. Of course if Jason followed the Peterson case he would check it out to see if a tracking device was on the car.
I am hoping LE was brilliant and put a GPS device on Michelle's car - especially after the WRAL article that it was observed inside Joe & Heather's garage. in Brevard...packerdog said:It could be that LE put a GPS on the suv so that they could keep track of him. Sami - so glad you are here to explain such things. I'm not up to speed like most of the sleuthers on this board when it comes to such forensic motivated ideas. Thanks very much !Samiya said:Lol it's after 02:30 over here and yep, I'm still awake as usual. I was laughing today because my cute granddaughter meows like a kitten when she wants food

Hi Close,close_enough said:i tend to think the 'special equipment' was for combing through computer data, rather than the drains in the home or elsewhere......someone over at ctv (a newbie that never posted again) posted this info/speculation...course it's jmo....who knows what the special machine/equipment was for?
I don't know Close - there have been a couple of news reports that he was seen in Raleigh before Christmas - would be interesting to know where he went while in Raleigh...besides to his lawyer and the WCSO station.close_enough said:for some reason i don't think GPS, after the fact, would matter at all....i think that once JY got to wherever he's staying, he's sat tight & hasn't moved...if he has, it's been very little & most likely local stores & such...

One thing about that testimonial order - it wasn't limited to just fingerprints and DNA - it also allowed for several other "things" as well as photographs.

"Sheriff's investigators can legally use a nontestimonial order to obtain such evidence as fingerprints, palm prints, footprints, blood specimens, hair samples, voice samples and photographs."
Who knows - there could have been a black eye under those sunglasses...

ETA - also handy if he decided to run...

You're right!!close_enough said:so, investigators are finished with the SUV...good deal!....if they found anything, pictures, video & lab reports will do just fine![]()

The examination of the computer hardware has to be done at a forensic data lab in a controlled environment. The computers and hardware are subject to search warrants and forensic data examinations aren't able to go ahead until the search warrants for the data are filed and given the go ahead. They do only need the harddrives to examine data, but in this case they would also need the printer to establish that the document was in fact printed via that computer by examining markings that each computer leaves on paper which is not visible to the human eye. The mouse and keyboard would be examined for prints to determine the topmost layer of prints of the last person who used it, since there are multiple users.

I have this feeling, JY will not be coming to Raleigh anytime soon to pick up that SUV. I also suspect his lawyer will have it checked out as well - the defense team is going to want to look at it closely to determine what testing may have been done (WCSO is not obligated to tell them squat right now) and to see if a GPS is installed. Just a feeling as IMO.close_enough said:aahh..ok, i didn't know he had been seen in Raleigh, before Christmas....
good point, though about "if he decided to run"......i just have this feeling that JY isn't stupid; that he planned this murder, & he planned it pretty well....i know if i were him, i'd park the SUV & not touch it for awhile....

LOL, I am on a septic tank, being 10 kilometers out of town.strach304 said:Anybody familiar with septic sysytems versus city water? My brother is in San Diego or maybe Arizona till tomorrow so I can't ask him how the septics work. He has a house similar and out in the suburbs like the Youngs and I remember when he had a problem with his septic. Isn't it stored or whatever and pumped out? The possibility of a machine with a special filtering system comes to mind or something that is able to gauge toxins or chemicals, foreign matter, etc?
