Maybe I'm giving their dog too much credit.

But I just cannot see Michelle being attacked on the second floor of her house, without the dog alerting her or waking her up. It would have taken a couple of minutes for someone to get their bearings that wasn't familiar with the house.

I think the dog knew the person that entered the house to do her harm.

Any time this is done whether the person agrees or not it is by court order only.

I dont think it necessarily makes him a suspect. Others have to be fingerprinted so that police can eliminate their prints if found at the crime scene.

Now they certainly could infer that he may be a suspect in the murder of his wife but Dan Horowitz also had to give this and it was a court order even though he was very willing to do it anyway. It is to protect police and the case however it turns out.

The rule that they state on the site is only one rule, there are other laws saying fingerprints can be obtained when they are needed to exclude not include just like it was done in Dan's situation. Now should he have been the killer......they would have used it to include him of course.

They must have Jason's fingerprints so that if they are other fingerprints found in that home they will know it is not his. Process of elimination or if he is guilty then included.

i understand it's protocol, but in my head, it's protocol when they know they can't get the person to come in without the order....i know i read somewhere that others went to LE & gave their fingerprints without an order being issued....

i hadn't read this, but if Meredith found her on the bed, then it's safe to say that Michelle was probably murdered while she slept, huh???.....if this was a "violent" crime, then it sounds like the killer hit her numerous times maybe???....wanting to make sure she was dead....OR they hit her once, she woke up & there was a struggle on the bed.....

all the blood "everywhere" could simply have been all the little footsteps made by Cassidy through the house.....

Oh my goodness......I am getting a headache. I thought someone said she was found on the floor in her bedroom and that blood was on the bed.....now this one says that she was found in her bed. Then how did all the blood get everywhere in the house for Cassidy to traipse through? I can understand if she climbed up on the bed and got some on her feet and then got down and tracked it but it doesn't seem like it would be blood everywhere. And why would Merideth ask Cassidy if Michelle had fallen if she is lying in her own bed?

Grrrr we need more detailed information. So many conflicting statements.

Yes but they have to sign off on the legal court form. Police must protect their case and how they obtain any potential evidence.

I just had a Wudge 'brain fart'! Reading your link Charlie, I read this paragraph and quote it here:

"LALAMA: But could that -- I mean, is it possible -- is it out of the realm of possibility that you could see this child being investigated such that -- what do you remember? I mean, in order -- and to be used as an investigative tool, so to speak.

GLASS: Absolutely. They have to talk to this child in terms that the child can understand because she`s not developed cognitively to speak as an adult can speak, obviously. But there are things that she can come up with pictures. They can show her things. What happened? If she`s verbal, they can get a lot of information from her, depending on how they ask her the question. They need to use open-ended questions so they don`t lead her in the wrong direction, or the right direction."

Could it be the reason LE immediately knew the crime was not committed by a wandering murderer and rather by someone close to or knowing Michelle {shown as the house was not broken into}, that little Stephanie who is 2 told them what had happened to the mother? She could have said something like "My Daddy hurt my Mommy". Simple enough for a 2 year old I would think!

Ocean,

I think the article is wrong (imagine that) - in the 911 tape - Meredith says Michelle is on the floor.

Found this too: "Jason Young hired an attorney soon after his wife's body was discovered. Roger W. Smith Jr. did not respond to a request for comment this week on his client's case.

News reports have stated that Jason Young called his wife's sister, Meridith Fisher, on the morning of Nov. 3, asking that she drop by the house to pick up a fax he didn't want his wife to see. She entered the home and found her sister's lifeless body on her bed."

This says that Michelle was on the bed, so assuming it is correct, she may well have been sleeping when it happened.

post #864, page 35 of this thread.....it's the first time i've seen where it's mentioned that Michelle was found on the bed.....

no telling why Meredith asked the question....i think she was just asking anything she could think of....AND it could be that the report above is incorrect....no where in the 911 call did it mention that Michelle was on the floor OR in the bed....BUT Meredith did tell the 911 dispatcher, near the end of the call, that she had "moved a pillow".....that was during the part of the conversation where the dispatcher was telling her to not touch anything else....she then offered the info "i just moved a pillow".......thinking about it now, Michelle probably WAS found on the bed.....

You know I use to think if there were dogs present in the home the homeowner would be alerted but that just doesn't happen sometimes. The McKenzie/Greone family had two dogs that were kept inside, one a pit pull that Vance Greone said was aggressive yet Duncan came into that home and caught all that poor family by surprise and in Jessica Lunsford home there was an inside dog and it never made a whimper when Couey came into that home.

So I think we want to believe that all dogs will act protectively but that is just not true. Sometimes I think they can sense evil and are scared too.

I have been waiting for you Scandi ! I knew you would drop by. You know I'm thinking back to when my boys were that age, I seem to remember words like boo boo and anything with an L was reduced to something else. It is possible that baby Cassidy said something, but I think they, LE, should be extremely cautious about utilizing such information. I doubt the average police person is really qualified to interview a child this young.

I hope this baby saw nothing, I hope she was sound asleep in her room far away from this. What bothers me is I recall my wife telling me that she often would bring the babies to bed with her when I was away. She felt better about having the baby near when I was gone.

There had to be a baby gate that kept Cassidy upstairs and the dog downstairs. The dog has always bothered me and Meredith said the dog was going crazy barking. I figured the dog was in the garage or a penned in area but it's possible the dog was on the first floor so whoever got past the dog twice, in and out.
