New car between partner and i has an
off switch for the passenger airbag. Volkswagon Eos, Germany, July, 2006.
the reason given is
airbags kill children. now then, me, myself and i do NOT put children in a front passenger seat in the first place. but there you have it. the sign is right on there every time i get in the car:
airbags kill children. the rule here (Germany) is: when you have a 4 seat car and you have 3 child passengers (under the age of 14), the tallest child gets the front seat. airbag gets switched off. again, there you have it. or, more precisely,
here you have it. i dunno about laws in the states or different states, cos i know laws differ.
Edited to add: i don't know if this is a European Union ruling or just specifically a
German ruling, but the sign in our German car is in English and it ain't for ME specifically - being the second main driver (native English speaker) of the car.
