i'll be honest, if it were a sunny day & i was at a funeral, i'd have on sunglasses, but that's just me....can't stand the glare of the sun in my eyes, & it's made for a lot of 'crows feet' over the years, not wearing them  ....i pretty much ALWAYS have shades on when outside...(course my eyeglasses have transition lenses, so i don't have to deal with a separate pair anymore)

I would too - & sunscreen year round hehe! But I just thought it was strange that the men had them on and the women didn't.

Speaking of going all over his sales route...

He could have dumped clothes or a weapon at one of the medical offices' waste receptacles. Usually the hazardous waste containers are locked, but he might have easy access to garbage containers at those offices. Especially if he had an appointment at one.
Taximom,

I think this is an excellent point. And it is also a point that in turn gives me pause. It is quite posible and as we know it happens, that the perp would have disposed of items associated with a crime well away from the scene. Trash containers are often dumped on a routine schedule and so the perp could believe it would end up in a landfill so full of trash it would never be found.

The pause comes back to JY lawyering up immediately. I'm thinking there are two known reasons why the immediate retainer occurred

1. The vehicle was confiscated upon return to Raleigh.

2. The step father was extremely adamant and most likely forced the issue IMO.

As to 1, I am sure the police confiscated Meredith's car as well since it was at the scene, as well as Michelle's car. It therefore does not seem unreasonable to confiscate his as well and I feel confident the reasoning was explained to JY and entourage. Seems Meredith took no exception to it that we know of, however JY (maybe step dad did) did.

Only JY would know at that point in time if there was or could possibly be anything in that vehicle and its contents that may have bearing on his wife's death. Only JY would know if there were sufficient receipts to show a general picture of his whereabouts. With that in mind it does seem to me that any lawyer could easily figure out that going back to these locations and looking in those dumpsters for things could be as exculpating as incriminating. Seems to me anyone with a brain who is innocent would sure as heck want the police to know very quickly exactly where they were for this reason. JMO

Good Morning,

Parusing CTV this morning, I found this link to poster Scout's blog. It is a great synopsis of the case to this point and does include info given by friends, and noted as such. She/he has put a lot of time into this and I learned things I hadn't heard before.

Close, you might want to take a look at this for the media links thread. I defer to you dear and your judgement, as it is not from the media:

ETA: For instance I had not heard that Michelle told the officer that she was wearing a seat belt. Also that Jason left the house on Thurs as the friends were arriving.

Hi Scandi, I was just catching up and saw your post. Thanks for the link, btw. The information that Jason was leaving as the friends were showing up was a remark made by a poster named ConcernedCitize on the CTV board. CC claims to know the Youngs, and I believe that he does, but it's uncertain how reliable the information is, as CC admits to getting most of his info thru another party closer to Jason.

Thanks Scout, I appreciate your qualifying that info from friends and insiders, and that is why I added, 'and noted as such' because you were very careful to do this in your blog.

Very niceoly done Scout, and assuming you are The Scout LOL, it is certainly nice to know you belong here too. I assume the blog will continue to be updated as the case progresses and know it would be a great tool for posters to use studying the case. Links get lost when they are only in the regular threads, so I hope Close decides to post it on the links thread.

Here's some news:

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=local&id=4811361

But Pennica and others close to the investigation say the tooth is not a critical piece of evidence. Although it has not yet been tested they believe the tooth belonged to Michelle Young, not her killer.

"That tooth would have gone with the body to Chapel Hill for the autopsy and then it would have been buried with the body," Pennica says. "We would not have kept it as a piece of evidence," he continued. While the discovery of the tooth was coming to light, another source tells eyewitness news that wake investigators looking into young's death are in the mountain town of Brevard today.

The article also states Wake Co Sheriff is in Brevard today

Hi Charlie,

You beat me to it HaaHaa but I'm glad you have it all posted on the link thread.

Looks like it's a heatin' up in the ole' town of Bravard today! Charlie, do you really think they went over there to take new fingerprints after all this time? Could there be a fingerprint on that tooth? I doubt it, and anyway they said it wasn't important to the case.

What do you think?

I think there is more to it than just collecting fingerprints, possibly at least some attempts to interview. Maybe they figured out who was posting at CTV for that matter - hope they have lots of court orders in hand because for some reason I think the whole group will be calling lawyers. Should be fun to finger print pop ! The indiginity of it all...

Hi all,

Just popping in for a few minutes. Twice now (from WRAL and WTVD) I've heard the news anchor say that it was Jason's family that was doing the clean up. That's got me to thinkin' that if they are the ones that found the tooth and they believe it was Jason's wouldn't they have hidden it or kept the info quiet? I know it was found in the bedroom but WHERE in the bedroom is the question......in the bed - on the floor under the bed - would love to know.

JY car is sstill in the custody of investigators. Jason Young's sister found the tooth. Found near the bed.

Pardon me for asking, but how in the hell do you miss a tooth? :waitasec: They were in there for 10 WHOLE DAYS, and they miss a tooth in the room Michelle died? Sorry. I just hope they didn't miss anything else sort of critical to the investigation!!!

Didn't the coroner notice a tooth was missing when the autopsy was done? Wouldn't he/she have said "go back to the bedroom and find the tooth?" Yep. I watch too much CSI.

Yes, yes I know, it's just a tooth, but this kind of stuff (after 10 days!!!) leaves a lot for the killer's defense team to play with.:twocents:
