Hi All WS'ers ! Been out of the loop here as I had to work past 4 days. Now I have 5 whole days off:dance: !!!!! I can't believe no arrest as of yet. It surely can't be too much longer. I still feel JY is the murderer, although I have really prayed that he is not. I think if he were not the murderer, LE would issue a statement to that effect... 'Jason Young has been cleared of any crime and is not a suspect'. But JY has not even sat down with them? That blows my mind! What spouse in their right mind would not want to sit down and talk any time LE wanted!!! With LE going to Brevard this week, it sure looks even more suspicios to me. FWIW I need to catch up on posts, as I've just skimmed through them. Anything treally big I've missed? Hope all are well and had good holiday!
Sit back and relax for the next few days, sweetmop! (I'm so jealous!)

I think the biggest thing you might have missed is the news about a member of JY's family finding a tooth in the bedroom. There is an entire thread dedicated to that topic in the MY forum, and some comment interspersed here.

Thanks Ocean and Charlie as it makes it much more clear.

I notice on the CSI shows often if there is an outstanding piece of evidence the perp is arrested before all the rest of the forensic work is done. Maybe that's just TV!

And then often we see them hold someone on another charge while they do the investigation to see if they can charge the person with a crime.

I guess what I'm wondering is if they thought he was a flight risk, would they have enough evidence to arrest him right now? They could still finish investigating as they would have plenty of time, right?

I know you guys don't know the answer to that question, but after the SP case where everything was circumstantial and though they didn't have a body yet, they would have arrested him even without the body, it makes me wonder about this case. They must just have oodles of info plus the body.

I wish I knew if they had enough to arrest him now - but I'm inclined to think there are only x numbers of ways in and out of Brevard and I bet all ways are being watched closely. JMO.

LOL Well I just will say this. If Jason Young so much as sneezes "someone" will be so close they can probably hear it. :) You can better believe Scandi they have him under surveillance and it wouldn't surprise me if the Brevard PD are doing the same.

Even when they arrest someone Charlie they never have all their ducks in a row. Major investigation is continued all the way until trial time and some cases have even allowed new discovery in them. All they need is probable cause to arrest.

You're right. The Peterson case is a good example. If I remember right they were still investigating when they went to trial weren't they? Or maybe it was the prelim. Anyways, I see to remember Distaso saying that in Court.

No Charlie, you are probably right. For some reason I do think they think the fingerprints they have are very vitale to this case and they are looking for a particular match. Imo it is for certain they have fingerprints what is not certain is were any of them a bloody fingerprint but if so then this will be a major piece of evidence when this comes to trial. Defendants have gone down on a lot less than bloody fingerprints. There is no way to explain their way out of it. A regular fingerprint made by a person known to frequent the home...no problem, a lawyer could punch holes in that all day long but when you start mixing the dna of the suspect and the victim it is downhill all the way 99% of the time.

Thats all I am saying. We dont know what kind of fingerprint they found but it sure is interesting enough to them to keep searching. lol The part that is intriguing to me is we dont know what kind of fingerprint they do have.

Ocean,

Honestly what I think is driving this is the DA. And I know Raleigh is not Durham but I'm thinking this is going to be a very very conservative, well controlled case. I don't think any DA in Wake County wants any parallels being drawn and they are going to make absolutely sure they have what they feel they need before any arrest is made. But I don't think an arrest is far off. To me it seems that this whole investigation has revolved around everything but JY - the sudden appearance of Wake County investigators in Brevard IMO is the closing act for the DA. Don't know why I say this - just a gut feeling, but the curtain is about to be drawn IMO.

OMG - did you see Saturday Night Live's parody of Nancy Grace ? Funny but not near as outrageous as Nancy can be at times.

Maybe they went back to Brevard with a court order to get JY's palm print. That's not usually included in the normal fingerprinting process.

I think this is a very significant comment. I think the odds favor a palm print over a finger print if the perp did not wear gloves...think you got something going there Jilly.

Hello sweetmop and - in these 5 days, *dance* like no is watchin you! Lol... nice to see you again. Haven't read to the end of the thread so apologies if your Q was answered: nothing major other than the tooth being found by Young's family. Naturally, (tongue in cheek) this has led to an almighty uproar - LE are useless, what else have they over looked, etc.

You're spot-on, of course: LE has *not* cleared JY. So again, it's not what LE have said thus far - it's what they haven't said...

Me too, charlie. I've admired this Sheriff's mettle and focus since the case broke. He's not a media groupie and is doing his job and .... that job demands closure for Michelle's family, answers to the community and dedicated attention from his team.

Ocean & scandi - thanks for some great posts and thought processing!

Hiya close :) ... mmmm, I see your point. I've mistakenly forgotten Cassie's words on that tape. Maybe what I am hoping for is that Cassie didn't SEE the attack. Ag! OK. Cyber-Dollars are on the time slot? I'll trade in my $$$ for your ovaltine, lol but I am shifting toward before dawn as opposed to closer to midnight. Will be interesting when the details emerge. (er, that's why we are armchair sleuths and not working for LE, heh)

Thanks Annie and Yes, bring on the details! Off to watch the New Nancy LOL, oh, and here she comes . .

"Mr Richards, I think you should sue yourself. 'Why?' Because you ruined your own career. I got that from Cramer vs Cramer"

"When I come back we're going to play a little game: Where in the world is Joran Van Der Sleuth?"

Crack me up and send me runnin'. Clicking off OJ, and oh, it's gonna be a great show this week I can tell. Thanks Charlie :woohoo:

I heard a celebrity once say that you haven't really made it till you've hosted SNL or been parodied by them. I guess we can add NG to the list now.

I thought the skit was funny, but wish the actress would use a higher-pitched voice for when NG goes into her little tantrums. Deeper voice for more serious subjects.

(always the critic here!):p

I really enjoyed the comments about the pen being lighter, pretty close to Nancy in that respect. Also the pose at the begining - pretty well spot on. I can see SNL doing another segment with Nancy.

Charlie: who is SNL?

  • #397
Hi all ... I found this while reading up at Observer:

Note: Just checkin, not claiming:

There was a Jason Young at Woodfin Council, Wake County. Does anyone know if this is one and the same JY or simply a namesake? We haven't heard much about JY's career other than his last 3 mos at ChartOne.

Scroll down just past the half-way mark in this old news report:

SNL = Saturday Night Live. Are you familiar with this show, heard of it ? Chances are it may not be televised where you are - if not, I will explain it to you in a pm - let me know.

  • #399
According to another Jason Young in the area, there are alot of Jason Youngs around there.

Oh lord, thanks charlie ... I haven't seen Saturday Nite Live (ever) but have obviously heard the name of this show - thought it was a Jay Leno-style show... I should have PAID MORE ATTENTION to Taximom's post; maybe I'd have clicked.
