I'm very interested to see if LE went to the hotel Jason stayed at and looked there for blood. If they did find any they'd need to do more extensive testing and that would be a major holdup in making an arrest.
I'm not terribly disappointed, they still have the truck, that says to me something was found and I suspect you are quite correct. Perhaps you know this and maybe can enlighten me: can stains observed under luminol be sampled and tested without interfrence from the chemicals used to "light up" the sample area?
As for the hotel - that may be iffy I think. I'm not sure anyone but Jason would know what hotel he stayed at. There are only three ways I think the police could determine that in a hurry, if there was an 11pm call from JY to MY and JY used the hotel phone system - LE could hit the call back on the home phone and MYs phone to see where the last received call originated from or; when JYs SUV was impounded there was a brief case with receipts inside; or in the brief conversation JY told LE where he was. Unless one of these events occured, I'm not sure they could have found a hotel quickly enough to find untainted evidence still remaining. Its possible though - let's hope this is the case.
