Are you ready to eat at restaurants after Michigan’s order lifted?
Two-thirds of our text exchange members say they’re not ready to return to dining rooms; Those who are ready share where they’ve been missing
Two-thirds of our Coronavirus Text Exchange members say it’s too early for them to eat at restaurants, but the 21 percent who are ready to eat out have some tasty suggestions for when we can all feel comfortable COVID-19 is under control.
We ask our text group: “Do you plan to eat a restaurant this week?” In all, 66% said no, 22% said yes, and 12% said they’re not sure.
The majority said it was just too soon. Some said they would wait for a vaccine or full cure to restaurants, while others said they would watch how things go in the next few weeks before making a decision...
DH and I have continued our usual practice of one takeout dinner weekly throughout the pandemic. We would like to enjoy dinner out for our anniversary on June 25, but we have no plans to dine out before that. We feel confident that our favorite restaurant (Picano's in Troy, MI) will do an exemplary job of keeping patrons safe in their spacious facility. The restaurant has several dining rooms with booths and tables that are already comfortably spaced. I'm sure they will make a serious effort to further spread diners out so there is little risk of Covid transmission. Once Picano's has reopened for indoor service, we will monitor their progress on social media, read reviews, etc. Hopefully, they will have the situation under control by June 25, and we can return to our favorite restaurant for a long-awaited visit.
