Hey my fellow Michiganders! Sure is cold. stay safe.

Cold and going to get much, much colder. Worrying about my digs already. Windchills expected in the 30-40 below zero soon.

Yes! And a foot of snow tomorrow. I’m in middle of moving and this really sucks lol.

Ugh ... good luck with the move. Bundle up real well!

DH and I drove through several major snow squalls after the Ice Dance competition at Little Caesar's Arena last night. By the time we got home, it was coming down at a pretty good clip and staying on trees, shrubs, and grass. There were four deer in front of our house that scampered away as we pulled into the driveway. The overnight snow looks beautiful in the sunlight that belies the frigid temperatures. I don't have to venture out until Wednesday when the really cold weather is expected. Thoughts of sunny, warm places...

Metro Detroit under winter storm warning, advisory as several inches of snow expected

Anywhere between 2 and 10 inches of snow expected

It just started flurrying in Rochester (Oakland County). Many schools/districts were already announcing closings before I went to bed last night. Most local districts are closed in anticipation of the heavy snowfall.

Please stay warm and safe if you are in winter storm Jayden's path.

Here comes Jayden! In the last five minutes, snow has begun falling in earnest. Wind is howling, porch windchime singing, and I put a rolled blanket by the front door to prevent a draft.

He just wrapped things up in Chicago. We got about 6 inches on the NW side.
Stay toasty!

^ Thanks for the update. 5-7" predicted for my location in Oakland County. I'm sure we've already picked up 1.5" in 90 minutes. It's snowing so hard that I can barely see the house across the street

Whitmer issues state of emergency ahead of cold

Lansing – Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed an order declaring a state of emergency in Michigan ahead of dangerous subzero weather .

Whitmer announced the order Monday night, saying it will help address threats to public health and safety due to this week’s cold snap. She says in a statement “it is imperative that we are proactive” amid “widespread, extreme conditions.”...

USPS suspends mail service in Michigan, Midwest

A deadly arctic deep freeze enveloped the Midwest, forcing widespread closure of schools, offices and prompting the U.S. Postal Service to take the rare step of suspending mail delivery to a wide swath of the region because of the cold.

A popular saying goes: “Neither snow nor rain nor heat …” will stop the mail from being delivered. But extreme cold did on Wednesday...

Bright sunshine certainly belies the frigid temperature. Trash collection in our sub today, but we didn't put out bins so workers don't have to stop at our house, and I don't have to retrieve bin/s later. I have an appointment this afternoon that was scheduled eight weeks ago, so I don't want to cancel. I will bundle up for the 10-minute drive. Traffic should be light since schools are closed, and roads are clear and dry. Be safe and warm.
