How far away is this area from the base?

The area is not desolate at all .. there are a few subdivisions out that way, with a lot of houses and some apartments/duplexes. Nowhere in Jacksonville can be considered "big city", and there isn't a lot of foot traffic anywhere either. But, this area that they are searching around is a well-populated, older part of town.

The area is across town from the main gate of Camp Lejeune, so probably about a 15-20 minute drive, depending on traffic that day.

The area that she lived in, however, is only about a 5 minute drive to the main gate

Jadenn, I just read that the Lauren's own a house at 103 Meadow Trail. Is that near Gum Branch ? Is it near where they are searching for her body ? I just saw a clip in the news and there are some woods and it looks pretty isolated . Could you give us some additional info on this plasce, please ? TIA

What does the sheriff mean that he is not ready to call this murder. I do not think that she buried her self in a shallow grave.

I am wondering if he was married. If so were they still together after the rape
allegations? This just keeps getting more and more intriguing. I think that
allot of information on this case has been covered up.

An news article in the Jacksonville Nc paper said that a search is being done near a home that is owned by a couple with the last name Lauren. According to public record. Is this his parents are was he already married. This paper also states that they have spoke with her uncle who states that he was in regular contact with her and she was being painted unfairly in the press. She
was a bright girl who volunteered for marines and she was not given allot of support.

Not only was she a Marine but she was pregnant. The roomate and woman on campus helped facilitate this. The parents are responsible and accountable for tainting this investigation. Some people are sorry excuses for human beings.

Maria Frances was a beautiful young woman who aspired to be a Marine.
She didn't asked to be raped.

Their are too many woman being buried in the woods, like discarded animals. Too many monsters running around and thinking they can abuse woman and get away with it!

I hope they capture him today!!!

None, so far. I'm watching CNN and they don't have a pic either. How hard is it for LE to go into DMV computers and bring up his pic ??????

OMG! This is just absolutely appalling!! I am so angry! What in the sam hill is going ON in that county and with our military?!?! From the military, to the Sheriff, to her own damn family...they let this poor girl down! Something DID stink on this case and it was the entire lot of them!! GRRRRRRR!

The Sheriff needs to resign immediately. People at the Camp needs to be prosecuted. And the parents in this case need to answer some serious questions, too. (Did we ever figure out if there are 2 moms, as in stepmom, as the reports have stated?!)

I hope they catch this lousy and then go after everyone who tried to cover it up...including the parent who called her a compulsive liar, etc.

Did anyone else notice in the video of when they found her car it looked like it had been spray painted? I wonder if someone (maybe fellow Marines) had been harrassing her or something.
